@All... THe cut off (last rank to be called) for last 3 year has been:

JMET 2005: 2200+
JMET 2006: 1700+
JMET 2007: 1400+

Given the current market and global scenario, cut offs to be around 1600.


DISCLAIMER: This is just a speculation and should act as an indicator to apply for IIT M. But if u have a different profile from the rest of the applicants then u might get a call till 2000 as well.

hi my AIR is 2841 (GE). 1.5 years work exp with last 8 months being as a manager in the education sector. Do i stand a chance in IITM ? Also the application seems to ask for CAT08 reg number. Is it only for sponsored candidates or even others can put across their CAT score ?

You should apply to Madras,Kanpur and Roorkee.last year,K and R had their GD/PI at the insti only whereas M had it in Delhi,Mumbai and Chennai.

A cut-off is known only after the calls are given.IIT M does give weightage to work exp.So,you do have a good chance...apply for sure.ATB!

I have 2 years workex and a rank of 1705 in JMET in OBC cat. DO I stand a realistic chance of getting a call?

Considering the fact that last year the last call for DoMS IIT Madras didn't go beyond 1400, I am sorry but i'd have to say that it may not be useful applying to IIT Madras as such.

Also the last calls from all IITs ended before AIR 1800 last year (for general category) so it would be very difficult to get a call from IITs.

Although I don't know the exact cut-off in OBC category last year,you have a very decent chance of getting a call.So,do apply.ATB!
