Hi,
My SNAP score - 56.5
My profile -
Xth - 76% (CBSE)
XIIth - 79% (CBSE)
B.Pharma - 63%
M.Pharma (pharmaceutics) - 68%
I have been following this thread (and the older one started by Old Monk) from the beginning. It seems the tempo has gone down a bit.Is it because of placements? Just an observation, I could well be wrong.
The course (as stated in earlier posts) seems to cover multiple domains of healthcare - hospital management, pharma, IT, NGOs, insurance etc. It seems that its a 'jack of all and master of none' kind of course (no offence to SIHS, just giving my personal opinion).
I mean I hardly think that a pharmacist or for that matter a B.Tech (bio-med eng) graduate would ever be considered for recruitment by top hospitals and it seems that most of the academic partners are Big hospitals with only a few companies from other sectors like med.devices, pharma, IT etc. Thus it seems that this is a course which would cater more to physicians than those representing allied medical/healthcare sectors.
So, I ask Old Monk (I think he is a pharma graduate) to please suggest whether people like me should opt for this institute or instead, focus on general MBA or pharma mgt courses.

GD-PI is a huge factor in the selection process, why dont you start working on it ? work hard n smart n then keep your finger crossed [if you believe in it]. all the best
well, here we dont discuss about the content of any other course of other institutes, so i can tell you only about MBA-HHC.in this course, along with management, the focus is not only on the hospital or public healthcare delivery system but also on related domains like IT and Insurance. i hope now you will be able to figure out the differences.and this also answers your last question.
IT generally take us as domain experts for their hospital realted projects/product developments. most probable profile is Business Analyst, but a profile name doesnt always mean a lot.
in a mixed bag, scope n opprtunity is more for a doctor, specially MBBS. as far as the cracking the opprtunity and getting a pakg is concerned...it depends completely on the individual.
hope that answers your queries.
Good luck

Hii
Congrats all of you for your score...
but one request... Please do not put ur your score and profile and ask us if you gonna make it/what can be this year's cut-off. if you think a little you will understand its not possible for us to answer any of thoese questions, not becos we dont want to, but becos we can not. it depends on a lot of factors other than individual scores. so any prediction by us will misguide you. cuf-off varies every year. n it might not follow any increasing/decreasing trends.
you have to keep your finger crossed n wait till 21st Feb for the Gd-PI list.

Hii
thanx for being such a great follower of my threads...
well, tempo is still the same but my personal interpretation of the MBA-HHC related opprtunities-scopes has changed a lot...experience, as one might say. there are lot many reasons of thoese experiences...check out the pm im sending you.
it is a kind of mixed bag course. it has its own pros and cons. one will become a jack or a master depends on oneself.
Som of the companies do prefer Docs, but also for some of the companies, its the 'management skill' that they look for. so in that case placement ultimately depends on individual management skill rather than his/her edu-profile.
you should consider a general MBA or pharma MBA from some reputed institute instead of MBA-HHC. why dont you try for a Phd/MS...? you hav your masters already. it will be a geat career option. any MBA will have shadow over your M.Pharm. think about it.
hop this+ that pm answer your queries.

hi Old Monk
thanx for all ur efforts for guiding all aspirants out here.
i wud like to ask u abt how exactly one should prepare for GDPI?
i mean they may ask u anything in the world. but becuase this is a MBA -HHC course does panel stick to topics related to health care management , medical economics etc. ( about GD im asking) or they can give u any other topic related to business world, current affairs etc.

thanx in advance
cheers
