well, tempo is still the same but my personal interpretation of the MBA-HHC related opprtunities-scopes has changed a lot...experience, as one might say. there are lot many reasons of thoese experiences...check out the pm im sending you.

it is a kind of mixed bag course. it has its own pros and cons. one will become a jack or a master depends on oneself.

Som of the companies do prefer Docs, but also for some of the companies, its the 'management skill' that they look for. so in that case placement ultimately depends on individual management skill rather than his/her edu-profile.

you should consider a general MBA or pharma MBA from some reputed institute instead of MBA-HHC. why dont you try for a Phd/MS...? you hav your masters already. it will be a geat career option. any MBA will have shadow over your M.Pharm. think about it.

First of all, thanks a ton for your frank reply. Well, the thought of Phd did cross my mind more than once but the thing is that I am interested in stem cell research. Stem cell research is a 'science of today for the US and a science of tomorrow fo India'. Now the catch is, no one knows when this tomorrow's gonna arrive. It could be a few years down the line or it could well be a few decades away. You being a pharmacist, I presume you might be aware of the fate of antisence therapy. It has been more than 25 years since its 'inception'(if I may say so) and still the technology hasn't come to fruition.

Genuine R&D takes a lotta patience and an even higher amount of money. So in my opinion anyone who fancies R&D should fly abroad. We all know what kind of crap goes on in the name of research in India. Any romantic notions like 'India becomming a pharma R&D hub' is nothing but living in denial.

Anyway, all the best to you for your future. Who knows, we might end up in the same company someday, maybe Pfizer (USA) :angel:

GD preparation: U can get any topic present on this mother earth...so dont just stick to healthcare related topics. there's only one way to prepare for it...read read n read...whatever you can. also mock GD might help.

to find that out you can ask any student of MBA HHC whom you know personaly.

im afraid i cant help you in it. if i find some way out ill surely do.

1. what is the job profile offered after our completion of post grad?
2. i got a mail in which 1 studient of SIHS got plcmnt of 12 lakhs p.a.? is it true? n which company offered him this?
3. what about job satisfaction?
4. and frankly will u advise ppl to join the Institute.
As I am from A bioinformatics backgrnd. Should I be joining this institute?

and my snap score is 33.5
so can i expect a call 4rm sihs

well, im not as 'pharmacist' as you, so i dont have that much knowledge about the mentioned things. but i must say...if you search you will find thousands of MBAs like me working at any given point of time. but as far as som cool Phd is concerned...its hard to find. if you are research minded, plz do not come to management line. you might find MBA is a over-rated course anyway. you will be disappointed, thats for sure.

what i know is indian reaserach is about quantity not quality. so u can decid if you wanna stay for quantity or go out for quality. you can always come back and spread some quality...that '25 years' thing might become 2.5 years just becos of you.

n i will never end up in Pfizer-USA. unlike research, other activities like marketing is much strong here...so im gonna stay here itself. thanx for that wish though.

you surely end up in Pfizer-USA if you follow your heart.

Hospital: administration/marketing/operation
consultancy: jr analyst
others : operation/marketing
it really doesnt matter what you call that post. plz dont go on the profile names. the only thing that matters is your job description and the pakg.

2: why dont you ask the person who send you that mail? anyway, there's no indian-placement with 12 lakhs pa. but some of the international pakgs can be converted to that amount...i really dont know the exact conversion rate. so cant tell you if it will touch/exceed 12 lakhs pa. but it will surely be around it.

3: im afraid i cant give any kind of advice unless its a huge mismatch. it has to be one's own decision. i just provide infos that i can.

if you can post your edu qualification in detail along with your work exp, target sector, type of job, xpected salary, i might be able to give you what i feel about you joining this course. i dont wanna make any blind comment to misguide you. but plz keep in mind that 'advice' will be based on my perception only. you have to take you own call.
