hii suny,

good to see a new thread on NMAT sect.i have had followed the previous thread too but the info on that is not updated..i checked with the site of nmims & found that mba global & mba capital markets have good placements & contents including international internships ..my query is that a min of 1 year exp is must for admission into these programs or can be taken as a fresher??
coz i checked with another NMIMS management quota thread & found that even the freshers r gettin seats in mba sectorial.
wat wd be the expected cut-off for mba sectorial?

nmims is gr8 to be in..
all the courses are equally gud,serve thier respective areas n r growing exponentially..
global and services are kinda generalised courses offering good proflies, placements and serve all the sectors..
cap markets, banking, actuarials are good fr finance n related areas
retail is also a very good course..

ya,freshers do get seats, bt it is advised to have good work ex, though almost 80% of students are with workex in sectoral mba..

regarding avg placements(for batch of 2008

MBA capital markets-10 lpa
MBA global business- 9.5 lpa
MBA services management- 8.5 lpa
MBA actuarial science - 8.5 lpa
MBA retail management- 7.5 lpa
MBA pharma management- 5 lpa
MBA banking - first batch will pass out in 2009




cut offs depend upon the exam, student performances n choices...

actuarials:- mainly analytics, risk manangement, insurance consulting,
IT consulting,banks,etc

services:- banks, crm, analytics, media, telecom, IT consulting,hospitality,
real estate consulting,healthcare mgmt n consulting,, tourism, etc

global:- banks, crm, analytics, financial consulting, IT consulting, real estate consulting, telecom, manufacturing sector, travel n tourism,etc

Thanks for providing us with NMIIS Sectoral MBA Prog Gyan!

Though, I've passed out this year itself (B.Tech) and soon I will be joining an MNC.
My query is regarding the seat distributions in different sectors and will my work-ex of couple of months sound enough for all of 'em?? Also lemme know, when does NMAT takes place and when does the session begins usually?

And help with prep strategies is needed as well..!

HI Maninblue,

Anything less than a year of experience is discounted by B-Schools. Last year, for admission to NMIMS we had two separate tests. First one for NMIMS Core programs which was held on 30 Dec 2007 and for Focussed Programs it was conducted in the month of February. The announcement of NMAT for admissions next year shall be soon done by the admission team. Sessions start by July preceeded by a fortnight Orientation Program.

Last rank admitted to GLobal Business was 67.

Is a Fresher eligible for NMAT? If yes then what are his chances?

Yes. A relatively high weightage is given to Written Scores hence you should have good chance if you score well in the written part.
