IT offers Business analyst, Senior business Analyst, Business development mgr profiles....

since u r from IT background, it will help u in the course as most of subjects relate to SDLC,IT mgmt... also it will be easy fr u to get placed in IT sector..

C it u don wan hard core finance then go for MBA services mgmt or retail mgmt or global business as they offer IT specialisations...

IT does offer a lot of opportunities. Even in NMIMS you can get numerous opportunities in IT as we have many IT firms recruiting from the campus. Even though courses in NMIMS do offer subjects in IT, they are few and restricted. If you are looking for a specialization in IT, I would rather suggest you to look for options in colleges like SPJAIN, SCMHRD, IMT etc.

In NMIMS, specialization has been done away with. In the CORE Program, you are offered with number of elective subjects from which you need to select subjects as per your interests. However in a course like Global Business, we have a fixed curriculum which is abided by and no electives or specialization is offered.

Im currently workin in my family business and prep for MBA..

I had certain queries ::

1.Is there preference given to Gujrati ppl ?? Im non gujrati .Any specified quota ?? if not specified how much is skewed towards gujrati .

2.for specifically MBA (capital markets) , are freshers and ppl with work ex from family business admitted ?? if yes to what %age ?

3.what is the ratio of freshers to work ex in mba core and mba(capital markets)

i somewhat agree with pradeep, CORE has done away with specialisations....

but IT companies lik infosys, wipro, sybase, intel, oracle, accenture, hcl, satyam... visit n recruit from nm...

if u wan IT specialisation,then u can opt for MBA services mgmt, as it the only course in sectorals providing major n minors...

majors: marketing,hr,finance,IT,operations
minors: healthcare, services, hospitality

1) NARSEE MONJEE doesnt hav any kind of quotas at all.....

2) yes,freshers and decent %tage of people from family business are admitted to MBA capital markets

3) both in MBA core n MBA sectorals, about 30% of junta are freshers...

On a serious note..... to give you some stats, of the 30 ppl in Global Business this year only 2 are guju.... myself being one..... have no idea why they ask for that in the form but yes to what i have see no quotas as such for gujju's, atleast to my knowledge !
