Dear Would be Juniors

I know for anyone getting into a B school, placement is of paramount importance but i am sure it IS NOT THE ONLY THING FOR WHICH ONE COMES TO A B SCHOOL!
We all are aware of what the scenario is like and we also know how the top cream of Institutes are being affected. Anyone who has been following the news and is in contact with friends would know the situation and figures in such places. The information i have through my friends and peers can be found by any of you about any B school. I cant post or divulge them here as it would be immature.
adding on to wat Richa has already mentioned, anyone who has the capability and calibre to come into B school, can definitely have some value additon to find a job for him/herself from campus. If you dont have faith in your opportunities then god help us all :wink:
As it is evident,it is not that the students being churned out from here or any B school have become dumber from last years-THE MARKET IS BAD. When hirings are on freeze there is not much to be done no matter where you are.. there are N number of examples from different instis to be cited.

puys, just have faith in the place and most importantly in yourself. If you really are good enough to be picked You shall be picked over others. It applies in every sphere of your life including your GDPI :cool2:

hope you puys have a more relaxed time ahead. All the very best for ur rounds.

PS-lets not get judgemental of either our ALUM/seniors or us. KTC has been doing a wonderful job here trying to guide everyone with whatever we have to offer.

we assure you, your seniors( US ) shall be of such help even when you join in july.

Just to inform you I had a great time in college, was a part of placecom and got placed at one leading companies in the country. However, I am against the wholesale misguiding of future students.

Secondly, pls stop misguiding students by (mis)using the "DSE" brand. We are NOT, repeat NOT a part of Delhi School of Economics, we are only a faculty in the Delhi University. We were excluded from DSE in 1991, and placed directly under the University. So your claims to DSE brand are unfortunate.

Dear prospective students,

I would advise you to call the department and confirm facts before taking a decision. Especially inquire whether or not this department is a part of DSE.

Had u been our alum you would have known that companies like ITC and UBS dont employ fools and they obviously know our worth and value us which is why they come here for recruitment just as they did last year.
If you are an alum which I doubt you are and if you were really in the placecomm then the batch not getting 100% placement is your failure. It is the responsibility of the placecomm to work hard enough to get every one in their batch placed and not the other way round. It does not reflect on the quality of students.

So stop being a pea brain about it and stop this non sense crap and stop clammering for attention. If you want more attention do come over to college we will be happy to show you around. And we would be happy to show you what is actually going on in our college.

My...my..FYI we were placecom team that got ITC & UBS on the campus for the first time- I went to Hyderabad & Debaki Dhar (herself placed in ITC) made the presentation to ITC in Kolkata.

All said 2 facts remain :

1. MIB has almost never got 100% placement since inception.

2. MIB is NOT a programme under Delhi School of Economics nor has
relation with DSE whatsoever. It is conducted under the Dept. of
Commerce which is now not a part DSE.

I am quoting an excerpt here for all to read and decide on their own.

Department of Commerce has been a part of the cluster of four social science departments collectively known as the Delhi School of Economics (DSE). The saga Department of Commerce, is filled with stories of institutional pride essentially rooted in the autonomy it was granted for enrolling its own students for post graduate programmes in the University. To provide specialized training in the field of finance the Department of Financial Studies was carved out of the Department of Commerce in 1987 and the two moved together out of the Faculty of Social Sciences to become Faculty of Commerce and Business which is the youngest faculty of the University. Department of Financial Studies is located at South Campus or the Universities.


As for the allegation of problems in placements, I agree this year there is a problem but the data for past years is missing as we have a new placecomm co ordinator this year.

KTC, i have a query...2-3 pages back i have found that someone has mentioned about a form that we will be asked to fill at the time of reporting...could u please share information about that...
