i see arpit has replied to some of your queries.
I will help you out with the rest.

prfs:- just write 2009 buddy. and chill, IIFT is a pretty cool place to be in and the teachers are extremely extremely co-operative. So in case of any doubts, just post here,and we will ask them and get back to you.

We are all very very busy, our schedules start from 6 am and go on till 11 at night. So people can guess whats life gonna be at iift. Be prepared.

Some pointers for the IIFT written test:-
1. read gk lots and lots.
2. Concentrate on giving mocks having 1,2,and 3 mark questions cause the iift papers have been simliar (they have weighted sections, have a look, even finding what to do and how much time to give to what is gonna fuddle you.)
3. Its more important to be correct and choose questions correctly rather than to be speedy and wrong. and please dont miss any section. till now there have been individual cut-offs for each section.

Will help for interviews later.
The college will be a dream come true once you get in. Just remember IIFT doesnt advertise. You will rarely come across IIFTs name in the papers, but just remember, its the one college which is under the min of commerce and that too right in delhi and kolkata.

Shoot off any queries you have. Will try to answer them. Just dont mind if are a little late in respoding.

any certificates...they do help...they shud add to ur profile in a positive manner..do presentations,event management...anything that u can...
not only it enhances ur cv but also adds to ur exposure which anyday wud help in any b school..
