Hey,
What was said is that there is an overall cut off! sectional cut offs wasn't mentioned explicitly but it could have been considered. it was the case for last year, it can always change this year!
And, btw, watch your font size dude! There is no need to use such large fonts!!

nice to see here that few IIFT seniorz hav already started answering the queries.stil i would like to write some touchable things related to IIFT form submission.
1.guys do use IE only while filling up the form and submitting it,doesnt matter if its IE6 or IE7 but do the fill up when the server is not nastily slow.
2.u wont get ne acknowledgement letter after IIFT receives ur form, just simply check the updated status of ur application form online.
3.regarding the cut offs,am not very sure but i guess its not there, but dont skip ne sections or score negatives which in turn makes u dance when perhaps u r not assisted by ur mood.
4.for GK prep, news panorama and ne newspaper like TOI,TH will suffice.
5.yes gee up to tackle some surprises this time which may appear in quants section.
lyfe bcomes wot we make of it, and wot we make of lyfe dpends entirely on how we manage d ideas tht come to our brain
and its all total different if one doesnt hav a brain

Hi joji abraham
I don't think that there is a minimum cutoff for the graduation marks in case of IIFT unlike CAT
Cheers!!!

there is some wightage to past academic record, but trust me v have many people with 60-70% marks in grad/boards et al, freshers and that too not from great colleges.my own academic record is
BE 76%
12th 75.6
10th 80%
its pretty average so to say.right now give ur best shot.prepare well for the written.some tips are
1.increase ur speed.questions r based on standard patterns.having a good identification of them will surely help.make calculations faster.
2.gk will be there.the cut off is generally very low.i had a score of 1.01 and i know ppl with scores less than this who got calls.
3.lr is pretty easy.target this section for scores.
4.the pattern is not fixed.so b ready for some surprise.
hope it throws enuf light on the preparation.
no need to take extra load.the course is same as cat.for gk try reading stuff on exports, imports, imf, world bank, gatt, wto et al...
|
@arpitzwurld
You advised us to read up on "exports, imports, imf, world bank, gatt, wto et al..." for GK.
Can you suggest any book/magazine for this?
I do read the newspaper/india today regularly, but thats nt seeming enough to me.
Saw last yr's IIFT paper, was hardly able to answer any GK questions!!

yes one can get thru IIFT even if he/she's havin less than 60% in grads, but one needs to hav a spirited performance in written,gd&pi.

Hi folks
I gotta know 1 small thing from u who hav already submitted this yrs IIFT application online
IIFT application link is not opening here in my office...I must be goin to sum cyber cafe to get it done
In dat case I want to know
1) Whether one needs to write sum sort of essays(why mba? why iift? etc)or nething which needs some sort of thinking while submitting the form online? (I m asking this coz in 2006 I hav seen sum of ma frnds filling up 3-4 small small essays while applying)
2) I am supposed to send a DD (coz m not payin thru' credit card)
Is it to be in favour of "Indian Institute of Foreign Trade" payable at Delhi
or "Director, ndian Institute of Foreign Trade" or sumthing like that?
Pls reply
Regards
Soham

1. No, you don't need to write any essay while filling up the form
2. The DD should be in the favor of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE, payable at DELHI
Hope it solves both of your queries!!
Cheers!!!
