I 2 was sailing in the same boat n had collected a lot of stuff of the coll I intended to apply....I had a frnd who passed out in 2008 from WE-biz design(he was frm the 1st batch)...n he gave me crucial info regd the course

i had my query on the same lines:
i am Btech in IT , n i have gt admission in SSM in SCIT , i was wondering which one is better among .....to join Welingkar PGDM/Welingkar retail OR SCIT , i have some doubts whether doing a specialised MBA in IT will be good fr future or nt , what is the placement scenario in SSM ??

And one more thing what is the procedure for cancellation and refund of fees after we join the course?? do thy actually refund or put u into the trap of various clauses.

Won't comment on the 1st query of yours. I am not concerned about the placements either.... the times are volatile, one can't predict the scenario 2 years later. Can only say that if you are good enough there is no dearth of opportunities any time @ SCIT.

Regarding refund... just browse a few pages back and you'll find a person who got his/her refund in a very short span of time with a deduction of 1000 Rs (according to the norms). For further details refer to the prospectus.

to my knowledge a lot of chat has been made about internet connection
bt i wud be obliged if a senior may answer my few question !!

1. are all hostels (boys/girls) fully wifi 24 * 7

2. whats the speed of internet ( good or creepy ), what xact donload speed

3. i hav heard few websites like orkut and facebook are blocked !! is it true or hostels hav free channels or boundations.....

n as study_hard said, refund is done minus Rs.1000/- within a week or so

That's not an off-topic post
As far as I know:
1. Round the clock internet facility is provided. Yes it's wi-fi enabled campus.
2. Speed at D hostel isn't very good, still browsing and all can be done comfortably.
3. Proxies zindabaad!
And yeah torrents don't work.

i have scrolled the previous posts bt the doubt regarding the refund was ... wht after commencement of classes .....thr r some clauses mentioned in the prospectus ..so if nybdy has sm details on tht..

ok 1st n foremost dont go for retail at any cost....the sector has stagnated esp. in the current circumstances,i was myself selected fr retail in one of the very best b-skools fr that course (anyways ,wud hv never joined coz i wanted IT ) but skipped it.....2ndly pgdm in fields lyk finance n marketing and MBA in IT are two different things....if u have intrst in finance go fr pgdm (fin.) itz a crime even comparing IT n others....if u want to do MBA in IT no other place lyk scit....if plcmnts r the only concern ,skip we...coz they hv bin screwed big tym(have a known studyin there)....n also u askd bout future plcmnts of IT...u must hv known that IT domain has always been the LARGEST recruiter in india.....be it B-SKOOL or U.G colleges...IT has always dominated the plcmnts ..70-80% firms visiting a b-skool fr plcmnts are IT firms....so u can well imagine ,once the conditions r better wot can be the future of plcmnts in SCIT

Dunno the exact details but once the classes start.. you don't get much of your fee refunded i.e. to say it won't be advisable to claim a refund after the commencement of classes.
