What kind of mobile phones do you recommend us to carry with us??? (Since the campus is entirely Wi-Fi Will my e-series mobile just fit in here??? Hahahaha.. This is one of the best questions man.......... Well i am no expert on mobile phones. Personally i like simple easy to use mobiles. I use a 6300 and have absolutely no idea regarding the features of an E series mobile. You can carry any mobile you want, no restrictions here. I had a Vodafone connection before I came here, but then had to pay roaming charges. For all students of Symbiosis Airtel offers a CUG scheme where intergroup calls are very cheap. Almost 95% of all symby students opt for this scheme. If you have an Airtel number then you may convert your plan. I had to switch from vodafone to Airtel. For students who have their GF's out of state quite a few of them have a seperate reliance conn. So decide based on your usage

I am surprised at the fact that most of the ppl who have left Infy had a problem when leaving. You can join the coll asap, whernever that is in June. However since you work in Hinjewadi itself ( You didnt mention Phase 1 or 2) you could check the time table and attend lectures when feasable. You could also take notes from fellow students and study later on. See how it works. But meet the registrar and inform him regarding the same. We had a lot of attendance problems this sem and the director has said she is going to be very strict regarding attendance from this yr. :-)

Thanks Vipul Only concern I had was if that is allowed. I mean working while studying. I am in ph-2 but that is not a problem for me. I will anyways be coming to college tomorrow to have a talk with the registrar.

hey Mayank,
inform the registrar about the late joining and u then u can join later. But i doubt y its taking 45 days to release you. I am also from infy and have seen ppl releasing in 7 days. And i think its in infy policy that if u r leaving for higher studies,u should be released in a month.

You need to give a DD to the agent I think. I am not completely sure.. cause i had a lappy from before. but then dont carry so much cash. I am sure you all have savings acct and ATM cards. Also the SBI branch is in the D Hostel. So could take a DD anytime. Its not a on the spot deal and you would get sometime to arrange for cash. There is a SBI, Citiback and OBC Atm nearby. HDFC, BOB and IDBI are in Hinjewadi chowk. ICICI is not anywhere near the campus.
