Many of the programs at SCIT have students from diverse background like BCom and BBA. So knowledge of software is not essential. But do remember that you career will be in IT and hence conceptual knowledge of IT is must. Hope that answers your query.

Its good to see that you have industry exp of 3 years and that will taken into consideration and will be an added advantage @ time of placements.
I guess the syllabus @ SCIT wud be grooming you to be an IT expert by the time you walk out of the institute.
So dont worry @ all and just go in with it.

There is no relevant material on this forum available..surely people from 08-10 batch can throw some lights on what kind of GD topics were given to them.
Asfa reading is concerned I don't think that you need to focus on a specific magazine. Keep yourself updated about recent happenings try to maintain a journal and try to cover latest on happenings from diffrent domains like Technology, finance, etc etc...
hope it helps

Hi Padmakar,
Well, Rahul said my words. Just keep yourself abreast with the latest happenings with economy, technology, tech innovations etc. Its upto you what mags you prefer, all of them provide the same info . If possible start reading ET,Business Line, Mint for eco news

Hi,
Is there any other way of buying the SCIT application forms,
like SITM forms are available in axis bank,
is there any alternative as such?
Regards,
Shekhar

Hi There,
I guess the answer would be NO for the same . I took print out of the same from the site filled it and sent them through registered post. If they have forms available on their respective site, then do take print outs of the same..infact take few more than required, in case if its needed
Thanks
Shail

Hi Shekar,
The logic is simple, you should quote second option i.e Computers/IT
Thanks

Hi Shekhar,
You can buy the form online too with your Credit Card. The forms will be delivered to your address. You can then fill the form and send it to the college. The forms are also available by sending a DD to the college.
Cheers

Thanks vipul and shail, that was quite a help...
one more thing, suppose i want to apply for ITBM & NITI, then
i will have to
1)take two printouts one with the course ITBM and other with the NITI
2)take two demand drafts of 1400rs each
3)send the dd along with the respective forms in different packets
and then i will receive two forms from SCIT ???
is this the correct way to do it...
people, i know am being too specific in my approach, but
just want to be on a safer side..
Kind Regards,
Shekhar
