apart from that u would get anaddition 10 points for 60% academics in 10th 12th n engg + 5 points for being an engineer + 3 points for being from IT/Comp Sci engg

work hard and get aroun 70 for a call frim itbm or systems

it is not true that SCIT is only for engineers
since they already have done engineering, some extra goodies in terms of points are given them for struggling and finally passing out as an engineer...points mentioned above

these points are added to the snap score and then the call list is generated.....inspite of u not being from engg background, if you manage to get a very good score.....u cant be denied a call....and later on an admission

so do well in ur snap

since u are already giving cat, go ahead and fill snap forms.....score well and keep some justification ready wen a call comes thru for explaining ur gap(pm me for some gr8 ideas )

ITBM, ISS and NITI are 3 different courses altogether....go thru the programmed details on their site....all of them lead to IT Management with their own specialisation....but if u want a specialised course u may either chose ISS or NITI considerin ur work ex
afaik ITBM would be the most generic of al courses offered by SCIT and the most sought after ....quite a good number of laterals opt for the same

u would be mostly falling into the laterals category wen u pass out of scit....so wen u get a lateral placement....u may get a profile of ass. consultant or sr. busines analyst....i am not sure whether u are allowed to haggle for better profiles for lateral placements...someone from SCIT can clear that....

Laterals are students who come with relevant industry experience. So the 2 categories are Laterals and Freshers.

hey guys can u all plz let us know how to prepare for Snap
as im not been able to find any concrete study material for snap
wht should be the strategy when preparing for snap
since u all have already been through the experience of snap n cracked it covincingly,
plzz guide us all ...
im very very confused regarding preperation
which are the areas we should work on more
any suggestion of books or links vil be of great help
plz help us seniors
also i heard abt some workshops in mumbai for snap n nmat
if anybody knows abt it plz let me know

Vyom....each field offered in SCIT is unique.....You cant relate one with another....go through the site and decide wat u r interested in
n wrt to 70.....last yr cutoff for itbm was 88....so had u got 70 in snap last yr + engg+comp sci+acads>60% == 18 marks would take ur tally to 88.....cutoffs vary every year....so all the best for this yrs snap...try gettin arnd 75 for an assured itbm call with ur profile....

u can check out the various coachin institutes for the workshops
they do hold some extra seminars
concentrate onverbal n quant n brush up ur GK a bit
Manoram Year book seems to be a good option....but dont go overboard with GK since cutoffs are normall very low for GK
try scoring the max in 2marker qs n also solvesome mock snap papers

You are still eligible to get admission in SCIT even if you have a 3 years of Gap. If you get admission in SCIT you would be needed to produce a gap certificate.
