SP Jain (Singapore/Dubai) GMBA - DEC 2008 Intake

Hey Guys

I had an admit offer from SPJAIN GMBA for May intake, but I had deferred it to Decemeber. My Specialization is Banking Management.

I have 2 yrs of workex in IT in the banking domain and hence my specialization. I have a 680 in GMAT and 98.9%ile in CAT.

I guess the major challenge in the interview process is to convince the adcom that the specialization ure applying for is relevant to your prior workex and the program is a logical step in your career progression.

I had an admit for IB spec May 08, but deferred it to dec.

My Profile:

Xth - 87%
XII th - 91%
B.Com (H) - SRCC - DU - 60 %
Will complete 3 yrs of Work Ex in Sept 08 - Asset Mangement n Capital Markets, Investment Banking....

hi,

Last year, SPJAT was conducted 3 times for Dec Intake alone.
n august 12, then somewhere in sep and oct..
Probably we can expect the same this year too..

Last year the notification for spjat came 2months after the notification for admission was out..

For the current year the trend might be different! Last year even XAT scores were accepted. But for this year they accept only gmat and cat(and also, yeah, spjat).
So its better we wait till May 26, when the admission is about to start(as per spjain website),rather than speculating.

if u have prepared for CAT or any such competitive exams, u shud find spjat pretty easy.
SPJAT, last year, had sections - RC, critical reasoning, quants, DI .

i got 80% last year, and received a call for GLSCM. But due to unaviodable circumstance i cudn't attend the interview..
So, i am planning to apply for dec intake this year, once again.

If some seniors(of either the current Jun batch, or the Dec 2007 batch) can pitch in, i think, it would be more helpful in getting our doubts clarified.

I am posting this message on behalf of my friend. SHe is selected in the May batch but has deferred to the Dec batch ! She has one question though ! ..What is the procedure for loan ..

above Rs.7.50 and upto Rs.15 lacs :

mortgage of immovable property or any other tangible securities like pledge of NSC/LIC/UTI (surrender value)/PSU bonds etc. having value equivalent to 100% of the loan amount

So that sounds quite scary ,,aint ya !! .Do we need to mortgage the properties in order to get the loan ..or Does SPJAIN helps in getting the loan with minimum hassle .

Can some one let me know the exact procedure and the help that SPJAIN provides in getting the loan !

spjain website now says "admission to start around June3rd". Earlier, it was May26th.. Looks like they haven't yet finalized on the dates!!!

hmm.. one more week of Wait!!

SPJ has tie up with three banks as you can see here:

S.P.Jain Center of Management - Dubai . Singapore

Moreover from my struggle this year.certain pointers for your friend:

1. Above 7.5 lakhs a property gretaer than equal to the loan amount has to be mortgaged.

2.Last three years' IT returns of the borrower (candidate) or Co-borrower(parents)
have to be submitted.

3.These banks do have lesser interset rates for SPJ which is huge benefit.

If all papers are ready then loan shud not be a problem but still strat well over 20 days to avoid last minute panic.
Moreover Oriental Bank of commerce has started online loan facility too so better apply through that channel.

I too got the offer deferred coz cudnt arrange the loan in time.
I was going for 7.5 lakhs as loan and somehow arranged the remaining 7.5 lacs as cash.
