Aptitude test is not equivalent to CAT but you can compare the difficulty level with GMAT . As the Aptitude test has the pre-defined cutoffs , good level of preparation for CAT would be enough for getting call.

Also at my time there was a section for GK. that is where SPJ Test is different from CAT.

You can refer to S.P.Jain Center of Management, Dubai . Singapore for your answers , Mostly they will be out in Jan for June intake.

It is a rolling based admissions so you need to keep track and apply as early as possible.Although the average work ex of batch has gone to 3.5 years level.

hi tushar.please guide me. i have been working since 13 months ,so at present i have 13 months of work ex,1 yr workd as a trainee engineer at a steel plant nw presently working as a marketing executive for confetti media-bangalore.i have 64% in 10th,58% in 12th and 56% in engg.so what do u think? i looked up their site for the application form for gmba.it said freshers can also apply.my cousin saswat mohanty passed out from there and at present another friend of mine is studying there,they both say its all about luck. and both have vanished so i am not able to get any proper information as of from last 5 months.my friend didnt have much work ex nor good academics.though they both said tat a good work profile is basically wat they look for. i want to apply for marketing and really desire to get admitted there.i am a bit sceptical!! wat sort of GK do they ask? i am really confused and scared!!!

As an MBA aspirant if you feel everything is about luck then what are doing here trying to find out about how to get in, just try ur luck !!!

Sorry to sound the way i do, but try facing the reality , there is nothing called luck else all of us would not be breaking our heads trying to get into a top B-school.

Places like SPJ, ISB etc. look for academics, work experience, diversity, aptitude, potential. If you have any one of these and you can prove it then you sure have a chance if not then i would recommend u try ur LUCK somewhere else.

buddy!! u dont believe in luck ,all rite!! let me tell you something as a fact then u can say!! , a guy at spjain applied for gmba.his acad were 10th-65%.12th-62%, engg-56%.work ex of 24 months from a bpo(1yr bpo then some how switchd to software profile after tat) gmat 660,spjat 82 percentile,cat 95 percentile. he was siting with ppl with vey higher acads, gmat score of an average 700,cat percentile not much high 95 percentile,work ex almost 3yrs.he got thru they didnt.and i know him personaly.if u cant help then no need to reply.though i apologise for making the statemnt,wat i meant was u need a bitt off luck also.this thread is to help ppl like me to gather info and to gain confidence.and as far as i can see u should bee guiding ppl instead mocking them!!reality checks are must my bro!! maybe too much of atrium coffee at bradford campus!!! henceforth be supportive and try mentoring!!

By way of introduction, my name is Atul Goyal. I have also been shortlisted for the evaluation process. However, my status has not been updated regarding the dates of the evaluation process for the past 16 days. I was just wondering how come you have already booked a slot for the GD/PI process.

In the meantime, can you tell me about the process for booking slots. This is the first time I have applied and I have no clue about it.
What are the dates of the evaluation process besides 31st August?

overall profle good except +2 marks..
Xth - 71
XII - 58.2
B.Tech 71
SPJAt 76 percentile..
Work ex-15 months (till 30/11/0 at IBM GBS for a
european telecom giant.
Good extracurricular's .. event organization,paper presentations,etc..
SMM matches my kind of profile working for Service client
lower work ex and +2 scores may go against me..
comments invited on my chances to get a call..

What he meant was that only Luck is not important.

The comparison which you have given for accads can be be really true but you should understand the present situation

I will tell you at present SPJ is getting approx excess of 10000 applications for 250 seats , it might not be the case when your friend applied.

Secondly At my time average work ex was 2.4 it has gone up to 3.4 in May 2008 batch , so things have changed fast and for good.

Thirdly your friend might had got call on the basis of CAT (95%ile) and them performed amazingly in his GD and PI. They do carry lot of weight age.

As fas your profile is concerned don't get Scared , i suggest you should apply with confidence, may be you can apply with realy good score in Entrance exam and then perform well in GD/PI . this makes your chances bright.

Go through the profiles of People who are in the specialization you are applying, you will get a clear picture.

Don't worry , apply confidently and prep well.

As you have mentioned you have strong Extra Curricular's , that might work in your favor.But franlky speaking your +2 , Entrance Exam Percentile may cause hurdles. Work ex is also bit low.

I suggest you should wait for the result ( Call/Wait/reject). In case you get a call, then prep well for GD/PI so that you can compensate for hurdles.
