Welingkar GD/PI Experience 2008

KINDLY HELP ME WITH DIS QUESTION ""WHY WELINGKAR?".PLZ POST THE ANSWER WHAT ALL U R PREPARING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE COZ I HV GD PI ON 4TH MAY @ KOLKATA.

Hi PUYS,

Pardon me if I have posted the Question in the wrong forum.

I was just wondering as this thread will be equally visited by the ones who have appeared the GD/PI and also the ones who are going to appear...

I have my GD/PI for Welingkar is on 4th May' 08 (9 am slot) at Kolkata. I have entered this detail in Pagal Guy- GD-PI connect also; but couldn't find anybody in the same slot.
So, anyone having GDPI at this slot? Please do connect.
You know it's a great moral booster when you find somebody familiar in a GD-PI...

BTW I have found three fellows(other than me) on the same date:

Hi Guys

I have a question on the programs offered by Welingkar.
My preferences were 1. PGDM 2. Pgdm-e-biz 3. Retail

I am from an IT background with 40+ months of exp. Now i selected PGDM as my first opton is because of the number of seats. Also i thought that the e-biz program was more like e-commerce. My mistake i didnt check the syllabus.

From the threads I found that the placement offers were highest for the e-biz program which means that although WIM sells PGDM as its flagship program the demand for e-biz is much higher.

Also from talking to ppl I found that in PGDM finance and marketing programs are better conducted and hence WIM's competancy in conducting these programs is much better than Operations and Systems. There were also a very few ppl who opted for Operations and Systems.

Can Puys throw some light on these facts and how does WIM fare wrt Operations and Systems in the PGDM program.

Iam a Engineer in Biotech working in IT ,they asked me the first question ,why from biotech to IT and now to MBA ,I was honest without a PG u cant find a gud job in biotech so i took a job in software and Iam not interested in doing technical ie MS, so for career enhancement MBA is the best option and I think with my MBA i can fit better in pharma company with my background in biotech i can understand the domain well.....i hope my answer will be of some help to u.........all the best.............

hey....well i know such kind of tests where they show u blurred pictures and ask u to describe them.
actually this is a technique used in defence selection....n i ve been thru them and also got selected...
so actually u need to take a nice look at da picture......take the first thought that comes to ur mind....describe that feeling to them....the picture may show desserted buildings and roads or a chaotic situation like a railway station or a bus stand etc.....
suppose a desserted building makes u feel like this used to be a very prominent structure in the city but now due to some reason it has been abandoned now......but u still feel that someday again this building will hold the same importance as it used to....etc etc.......
in short.....they r lukin out for some kind of vision and positive attitude....u just cant feel sad and negative about all things in life...so watevr story u cum up wid.....make sure..it has a positive touch to it.

well wid the picture thing do we have to go abstract while explaining or we have to stick to practicality of the picture

well.....u can go abstract wid the picture they show u but.....make sure u dont go too far from the picture......keep it as simple as possible. they r not interstd in the abstract story that u cook up......wat they need to know is that u dont get confused with the picture and complain about the blurrness of the picture coz they have given u such a picture intentionally. so instead of wasting time in wondering about it, be prepared to shoot. just keep it short,creative,precise and POSITIVE.
