dont worry according to Supreme Court regulations quota is not applicable to PG programs..

And even if it is applicable - it cannot be implimented without increasing the seats to adjust the quota while keeping the number of General merit seats intact..

For ex if there are 50 seats for General merit, it cannot be changed.. The total no of seats ahve to be increased to absorb the category candidates.

So all those who have recieved an admit call (which was revoked) need not worry because their status is not going to be affected by the inclusion of new category candidates..

Few Questions in my mind.

1)Is that suraface mail to selected candidates already dispatched or that is also put on hold?

2)I haven't found any link of Placement '08 of DOMS,IITM on site. Can anyone put that link or data here.

3)I heard a lot about weather of Chennai.Can u tell What's the max. temp and some info on that? How are Hostels and classrooms?(Are classrooms AC?)

hi .... thanks for the info .... but .. there are multiple interpretations of the judgment .. and the interpretation depends on the side u want to take .... in addition, we don't have any information from the IITs... so, we can't comment on what they're going to do ....


Also, it would be a good thing to keep quota discussions to the thread meant for it ( (SC Upholds OBC , Results likely to be delayed).)..... or we would end up filling this thread with arguments and counter-arguments on quota !!

1) This needs to be confirmed. Will get back to you on this.

3) Don't worry about the temperature. Yes, it does get sweaty here, its humid out here. But rest assured the temp in IIT campus always remains 2-3 degrees lesser than the rest of Chennai because of the green cover here (80% of the area is green and will remain so because not more than 20% can be covered by constructions).
