i have got rank of 33 & am hopeful of converting it............but i have also applied for PGDIE(post graduate diploma in industrial engnering) at NITIE.its gd & pi will held in early may...............but i want to leave it for GBO programe....................plz tell me am i right leaving it?????????????

Hi Friends

My heartiest congratulations to those who have been able to get through and also to those who are in the wait-listed category

I was out of station this week and had very limited access to internet, though checked my result but wasn't able to check PG.com.......starting with my result..........bad luck......not even in the waitlisted gang:new_shocked:
.......was very sure that panel was very convinced with my answers during interview....................Anyway, for me it was a nice experience altogether to appear for GBO & MFC interviews since generally I am in habit of sitting on the other side of table (interviewer) ..........I have my plan B ready and its time to implement that !!!

I had a really good time here on PG.com........made few friends like dishu gupta,forgiven & hemdeep. And yess, Akshra deserve a treat from all of us specially from junta who have been able to convert GBO.......hats off to her commitment & efforts towards GBO thread. On a personal note, akshra you have many qualities of becoming a successful HR professional - go ahead & make it to the top.

Moving further, I will not be active on PG.com.....I would be more than happy to help anyone who need my assistance in future in form of personal or professional advice (may be for placement also after completion of the course ).........and yes I do host a community on orkut where you can get some recruitment related tips also. yaar honestly u shud do wat ur heart says. N yes do go ahead n join the course u want to, do not stop becoz someone asks u to.. At d end of d day u shud feel fultu satisfie..
U r right leaving it, if d decision to leave is comin from within u, n not from other's opinion..All the best buddy!

I was going thru the prospectus and it said that out of the fees once deposited (which is rs. 42000) only Rs 7500 will be refunded
Is this true? Does SRCC not adhere to the rules set by AICTE? Or is the course not recognized by AICTE? :icon_frown:

Hi,
Well GBO-SRCC is AICTE approved n within AICTE ,SRCC comes under the ambit of UGC. For technical details regarding refund of fees do call up principal office and enquire from the PA. Ur query is very relevant so do not ignore it.

sir i wanted to know about placement scenario......i have engenering bckground in biotechnology so are placements good for a person after GBO having life sciences background????????????? how much salary can i expect???????? and NITIE is offering industrial engenering programe so i guess there i would get placements more in manufacturing sector & in gbo in will get more oppurtunity in services sector...........this is the thing which is atracting me more towards GBO??????

If u want to enter the specialised area lik industrial engineering then GBO will not help u... yes in GBO u can make an entry into service sector lik banking & financial sector, research, MR, insurance, consulting, etc...

But again i cant predict wat salary package wil be offered to u, since it depends on u how well u wil compete with ur classmates. Its not lik dere is a guarantee tat u wil fetch a pay package of XX lacs.. So u see, its upto u to decide. In case u join GBO n wanna go back to manufacturing kinda profile/industrial engineering den placements at GBO wil not help u.. i m not an expert in ur area, better take advice from ur seniors from life sciences background n evaluate prospects b/w d two things... wat say?

hey akshara can u tell me abt the waiting process...
i have recieved the letter saying that there r 4 lists...and the first list wud be prepared on 6th may and the remaining 3 lists will come out if there is still some seats remaining vacant in the subsequent months with the last one being declared on 15 th august.
now the registration for the same is b/w 9:30 and 11:30 so do we hv to just call up the admissions office ,or reach there and just register ourselves or some documents hv to be submitted,if u cud ask..they hv also said that the fees wud hv to be deposited at that time itself if the waiting no. gets cleared...
