can anyone clarify what excatly consumer banking / retail banking involves and the PGP( RB& S ) course emphasises on connecting with customers ie sales, so would they also be offering profiles in operations or corporate banking or just marketing jobs ( plz clarify if marketing and sales are different- if anyone thinks so ).
as far as the broad outline of the course given by them they have talked about exim, advanced credit & IB.
So does anyone has any idea about what exactly would the course contents might be teaching.

also SCB is rapidly expanding in india ( it has applied for 100 branch licenses with RBI and is awaiting its nod, its also planning of getting into microfinance ) so they might be requiring huge manpower.
and if they get into mass banking like other banks then will they be providing good salaries as they do now.

so the question remains that will we be after completeing this course entitled to just low end jobs with nothing much but meeting sales targets and working under pressure.
or will they also move us along various profiles after gauging our skills and suitability to such jobs.

much of the above queries have been answered by few memeber over this forum , but if anyone has a different stake on this then do let us know .

THE SIMS PEOPLE ARE NOT SURE ABOUT IT BUT, HE TOLD THAT DURING INTERNSHIP U WILL B GETTING AROUND 15000 AND PLACEMENT IS AROUND 2.8 TO 3.2LC. p.a

the intake for this fabulous course is 300 students . now this batch will be divided into 3 batches.. one will start form june'08,,,teh other from october and teh last from jan'09......wat else.... a one year course in retail banking and sales is drafted specially by SCB because teh bank needs talent for its own work perpose.. the bank is grooming teh talent for itself....for all these years teh workforce teh bank was getting was all having teh knowledge acuired from various institutions and various different course pattern.... now SCB wanted a knowledge based work force which the past and teh current eductaion sysytem failed to provide..... now this move from SCB clearly indicates that the course is a speacially designed course and teh people groomed and tailored out by this course will beconsidered as a speacial task force prepared to handle teh retail banking and sales departments for SCb... Now this special workforce should expect a special good package as teh bank now is satisfied and convinced about teh knowledge base of its workforce it will be grooming with teh help of symbiosis guys..........!!!!!! now thats how it must b analysed... wat say yeah

i mean , u haven't even published in detail how much seats r u offering for this course , came to know about the student intake from other sources.

and what might be the snap score cut off for this course.
