2day i calld IITR 2 enquir abt current status of w8list..

they hv alrdy calld ppl till rank 127 as of now nd last dt fr thm is 8th July..

mine rank 136 ll hv 2 w8 till july 10th atlst..

dude, ccmon man! u hav a VAIO ok... no reason to be sad coz i assume u'd hav atleast 2 GB RAM. Tat shud be fine for Vista in a Core 2 Duo processor. As for your quest for XP, suggest u check with your buddies, someone surely will have a XP pack with all drivers. If not, ur most welcome to DoMS, IITR where I'm sure u'll find em all!!!

my rank is 115.

a few doubts :

1) whats the dress code for girls. i mean jeans with shirts are allowed???open toe footwear are allowed???? it would be very helpful if i could get some seniors(female) number to speak reagarding this.

2) any books that we should read and come. in an earlier post u had recommended being up to date on current affairs etc, so apart from that any material we should read???

3) will we get time to play badminton or is it all work and no play???

last time last prsn 2 b calld ws 107..

so d list goes
1st list - 1 to 50
2nd list - 51 to 87
3rd list- 88 to 107
4 th list- 108 to 127

they hd jst disptchd letters in last 2-3 days only nd no1 wud hv depositd till nw bcos they hv a long period till 8 july 2 do d same...so b4 ths list arnd 20 seats fr gnrl candidates r vacant..

Yes. You should have looked it first on the Sony Website/Customer Care. Vista Drivers would have been supplied to you in the installation/recovery disk.

Specifically, a quick search on Google gave me these links for XP drivers:

Btw, a specific word of caution to those who are buying Genuine Windows XP. Microsoft will stop selling XP officially from 30 Jun 08 since it's an obsolete product (acc. to Microsoft). Furthermore, Microsoft will not provide any support (read patches/upgrades/service packs) for XP from Jun'09 onwards (though this date is likely to change).

Congrats for making it here..Here are ur answers

1. I have PMed u the cell no. of Mansi Verma, me classmate. She would b able to resolve ur queries on dress code, footwear, etc etc..

2. Nothin much reqd now..Rather, I wud suggest u all to relax and have fun till the course begins...Once u all join, I promise there wud b loads to stuff to handle...So abhi aish kar lo..Anyways, u all wud get the prejoining assignment in the next few days, which again wud require some efforts to complete !

3. With adequate time management, one does get time to play sports as well. I, myself, am a regular visitor at the cricket nets during the evenings..There are several ppl of my class who are into sports, including badminton..So, on an average day at IITR, finding some time for sports isnt a big problem !

This Pre-Joining assignment wont take too much of ur time.. after all.. this is budding managers tht we r talking about here.. i don think it wud take too much time of urs..
