1. There's no information about the total fee on the website.
2. The call letter says nothing about it, mentioning only 48320/- which I guess is the fee for first semester
3. I called up the adm. office and they told me that they wont be sending any further information/documentation. The guy mentioned to directly come to the institute on 30 July with required papers for getting the admission

48320 includes the tuition fees(arnd 35k), hostel fees(max 1-2k) and lots of security deposits (just in case u find roorkee doesnt suit u and leave taking with u the fan, cot, tables and chairs). As somebody has mentioned another 8k has to be deposited for the mess fees which is for the whole semester. we had deposited 6k last year but with the inflation hitting new peaks every week, it was expected...

about bank loans, dont waste ur time with all that paperwork right now. deposit the fees now and u'll be able to get hassle free education loans from sbi and pnb baranches in the campus.

for all those who want more information on the waitlist movements, call up on the doorbhas no.s provided.... we being out of roorkee have no clue...

can u give any idea bout when the last most list was released last year?? i mean IF AT ALL i make it to IIT-R (gn 141..no hope though)..will i have ample tym in my hand to put papers in my company n then serve the notice period??
n the doorbhash nos. r of no use cz nobdy is picking up the call. n i seriously wonder hw the very nxt scnd, when i try again, it goes busy...

Last yr the last person to get admission got it at arnd june last week or July first week...
But then last yr we had a lott of drama due to the reservation drama.. so this yr the scene is gonna be a lott different...

Dude... Placements 2008 have already been conducted... but the official figures have not been released till now..

Thanks for the information. Seniors although the placement report is not yet out, please answer few of my queries
1. How long does the placement season last.
2. How are the placement scenario for operations.
3. Any specific reason for the delay of the results
4. When can we expect the final placement report, i know it is difficult to point out at an exact date, but at least give us an approximate week of the month.

the scene this yr is dfntly going to be lott dfrnt...many ppl seem to b intrstd to take up IIT-R this yr so i dun think the waitlist will go bynd 125 or so..wat ya say??

Anubhav here..u will definitely make it mate..last year 169 tak hua tha admission.. plus is list mein bhi many students r not joining.. so u will definitely get offer letter..bas thoda wait karna padega.. looking forward to c u in roorkee..

well,abt my intro, me in waitlist too.
about the reason for not displaying the placement results for IIT Roorkee i think its the dip in average salary figures despite the increase in average work ex of students.
NO OFFENCES seniors but this is based on the answers of the seniors itself at the time of GD-PI.They told me avg package dipped down to near 7 from 7.7 last year.thats why i think some students are even pulling up their applications.
correct me if i m wrong.

i had given bangalore office address for correspondence, but i have resigned last week.
