Dear Anuj/Trushin

I will be leaving my company on 30 Jun and my medical insurance cover will expire on that day.

Does IIT-R has any kind of group medical insurance policy, to which students can enrol to? Otherwise, I will buy a mediclaim policy at my end.

Any thoughts?

My two cents worth of thoughts on the topic:

The placement alone shouldn't be deciding criteria to pick up a school; everyone would otherwise vie for Harvard/Wharton then. There are several other things that you might to consider while picking up a school:

Location of the school; proximity/distance from your base location
Faculty and their knowledge
Food and accommodation
The course fee and your budgets
Facilities and infrastructure
Co-curricular activities
Special Clubs/ Entrepreneurship Cells
Students to faculty ratio
Nature of jobs offered (not salary alone, but role/profile)
The kind of companies visiting the campus
Last but not the least, your own goals in life

I have already struggled through school selection business for quite sometime and was finally able to prepare the above checklist. Introspect over the above questions and you will get your choice.

With utmost humility, I wish to state that for the very same reason I didn't even apply to a few IITs, where I could have got an admit (hopefully). I have also dropped an international school [in top 100 FT list] admission (with scholarship) to join IIT-R.

To conclude, I do not say that IIT-R is better/worse/equal than NMIMS or SJSOM or whatever; only thing is that it suits my requirements/goals better than any other college under the given circumstances (with an exception of IITKGP, where I am waitlisted).

There is a medical Insurance that was provided to us this time.. i m not sure if the same wud be given to u ppl.. neither am i sure bout the Details of the same.. never paid enuff attention to this aspect :wink:

Hi Seniors,
Kindly throw some light as to whom should we send our migration certificates.My previous university would send the Mig Certi directly to IIT R.Also let me know in case if it is okay to send the migration certificate before registration.
Most of the schools do not ask for this certi from work ex candidates.Will there be any issue in the admission/registration process without the mig certi ?

U don need to send in any of ur ceritficates as of now.. all these wud be required at the time of registration.. and there is a lott of time even after the registration to submit all the missing documents in the case of Freshers.. so no need to worry on tht front as of now..

gud news!!!!!! i got admission letter from iit roorkee at around 8pm in d nite. i was waitlisted at 105 rank in general category. but i wont b taking up d admission offer as i hv already taken admission in iit kgp. hope dat helps. so, one more seat left for d guys in d waitlisted.
