So mera number lag gaya..
i am ranked 91,, i will be joining IITR for sure..

Seniors can someone pls tell some info abt the summer placements in IITR
What was the average package in summers --> This info is nowhere available..

After MBA , can we get placement according to our preffered location ??

Hi Ankur...
The summer placements at IITR have been very good this year and all the students have got into good companies with good projects.. there have been a whole range of companies that visited IITR for the summer placements this year.

Although we dont have ne official figures for the summer internship avg stipend but then i can take a guess that the avg stipend would stand at somewhere arnd 10K or maybe a bit higher than that.. but then this is jus a guess. we ppl didn have ne official figures on this one.

As for the location.. its much easier for us to get our desired location in the summer internships as compared to the finals.. tht is wat i feel as of now

The placement report- 2008 is still not displayed on the site..(June started..)
Pls tell us the reason..
Because this is the very crucial decision..

I am 3 years experience in IT..
Pls tell me its a worth decision to join IITR pls .. be frank..

See, if iam worth , then only i am selected ..
Now,, what i am doing right now and what i will be after 2 years of IITR MBA ,
This can best be answered bythe seniors /experienced people who were in this situation
one year back..

If u cant answer the questions put up by me , dont just say some diplomatic political lines
and let some educated person comment on the same ,, pls..

No offence, just a suggestion!!

60% of the IITR senior batch is work ex ranging from 1 year to 3 years or more... Though your question is valid, but you used a very rude way which is quite insulting to an IIT...

Instead of framing question decently like.. "I have 3 years of work-ex, do you think should I join or aim higher?".... You post a baltant rude bombastic query such as "Is IITR worth joining?"

My only point is that.. Many seniors with 3 years of work ex or may be even more who have joined IITR - Are they fools that they will join an institute thats not worth joining?

I have a work ex of of 4.5 years and I will be joining IITR this year. I had calls from colleges perceived to be better than IITR, but for me IITR was any day better than the options I had. More than the college being worth you, the question really is how do you see your career after MBA and how will the college help you in achieving your plans. You have every right to make an informed decision but I guess you got a bit rude there, Though I know that was not your intention.
While on IITR, IITR's previous batches have always had more freshers than work-ex people. So the figures that you see (7.5 average salary) is with a batch which had 68% freshers( people with less than a year of work ex). Trushin's(By the way Trushin had multiple calls too, he decided to join IITR in 2007) and Anuj's batch has 30% freshers and they have had arguably the best summer placements so far (In DoMS IITR history). 2010 batch also seems to be heavy on work ex. With people like you coming in, I dont see any reason why 2010 will not better whatever records 2008 and 2009 set.
Nobody beats IIT's on infrastructure, branding, knowledge capital, opportunities (to learn or enterpreneurship or extra-curriculars etc). IITR is a wonderful place with an amazing future ahead.

to add to this friends. i had left stmicroelectronics after 3 yrs work-ex to join iit roorkee doms.i was all set to join this great institute, when vgsom called me up - just a
mere luck i will say friends ,otherwise i was there in iit roorkee.

so , go ahead and join doms - whosover has any doubt , believe me people
leaving good private institutes scmhrd, nmims etc to join iitr.

My intentions were never wrong!!

Guys, i am coming to IITR too. So we will rock in IITR as IITR rocks..
About the infrastructure , no doubt IITR is way ahead than other institutes..
I can know this as i stay nearby only!!
