As for DoMS website being pathetic, Well the website was redesigned and is available here. The new website gives you complete profile of class of 2008 and class of 2009 along with resumes of the faculty. Apart from that you can also have a feel of life at IITR by visiting various hostel threads here (These pages can use some creativity though). I don't think many B schools give you that much detail on their websites.

hey guys!!!atlast made it to IIT ROORKEE..2nd list has been released and last rank that is offered admission is 87.. i called the department concerned, and this information is 99.9% authentic..so my hearty congratulations to all those who have made it to an institute of such prestige..

Would it be possible for you (or the department/Insti) to provide a list of guys/gals who have confirmed their offer in the first list. As a minimum, would it possible for institute to at acknowledge the receipt of DD/acceptance via e-mail (I believe it's just 19 candidates, who have confirmed

I had confirmed about my DD on the phone, but I really do not want any last minute surprises, once I resign

bcoz offer letter may tak some time to reach to all others...so dis info will do gr8 help...

i called up today at 01332284010 n dere person confirmed me, he told letter r dispatched on 9th..dey will also put up result on site ..but wen not sure.

The DD is supposed to be in the name of "Registrar, Indian institute of Technology, Roorkee". For amount see earlier in this thread.

You need to sign and return a paper (which will come with the offer letter) along with the DD. That's it. Rest all activity needs to be done on 30th July'08.

P.S.
(i) I was in the first list, but I'm sure the information would be equally applicable to those in the second round.
(ii) There's nothing fancy in the offer letter (If you are thinking that it describes the institute or what you need to do next). Personally speaking, I would have appreciated in case the college sent a coloured printout with course details, prep work and fee structure.
As of now, it's just a single page b/w xerox.
