Dude.. if u were in the first list of the admissions then i guess its too late for u to receive the offer letter.. though still i wud suggest u to call up at the number mentioned above.. at the IITR office.. tell them the problem they may be able to help u out

hey after this vgsom debacle hopes are getting bleaker about this watlist movement...i fear that it may happen in case of iitr as well....

to fulfill the obc quota, they have reduced the general seats (at least this is what was inferred after they announced that there will be no waitlist !!!)

although this is going against the SC judgement that seats of general category wont be reduced...but what has happened has happened !!!

the last thing i would expect is the same happening for iitr as well

But lets keep our hopes pinned and alive

SC has given clear direction that the no of General seats cannot be reduced for including the quota candidates

Dnt wrry...our HoD had earlier assured tht the seats for general category wud by no means be reduced...so no one who has got an admit should worry...!

what about those in the waitlist..

Will the things be like last year when the waitlist was cleared upto 150 rank...
Or the the seats will be offered to quota candidates instead of the general waitlist ppl....?

IIT roorkee is very transparent in the admissions scenario... giving ranks.. atleast ppl know where they stand and what their chances are..

28th was the last date to submit the fees..
Now its 5th working day from 28th.
Can we get some status abt the waitlist clearance pls..

Or how many merit people have registered before 28th..
So that we get the rough idea abt the waitlist movement..

We have no official word on the date for the release of the next waitlist.nor for the actual number of ppl who have confirmed in the first list.. though the excel sheet gives a gr8 idea for the same.. we have arnd 9-10 ppl confirming in the top 50.. where we have arnd 20-25 of them present.. so we can safely assume tht we wud have arnd 15-20 seats confirmed in the first list..
So there sure is still a lot of seats to go.. the next waitlist according to me shd be coming out in this week.. though i wud try n get some official word on this one..although pretty tough as we have exams comin up from Monday ..
I wud request u all to b patient with us.. the silence on this thread if at all wud b cos the exams and not a deliberate one..

Hi puys,
A great piece of info .I called up the office and enquired about the no. of confirmations.They said they received 19 demand drafts(well got this info. after 4 extensions).They said it would take another 1 week for the next list and also assured that all the general category seats will be filled.

So this means for people with GN upto 83 will definately have their names in the next list.(My self Gn/84, just 1 rank behind).

thank you for informing!! but i had one query - is the 19 Demand Drafts have been recieved for general category?? i just wanted to make sure if you inquired about general candidates only.

hey everyone sorry for the delayed update, looks like even i'll be joining IITR bandwagon. my IITR rank was 31 and i have already got the conformation for my DD.
ya i have updated the xls.
