Hi IITR joining junta ...
come and tell who all have submit the fees..
Are there only 10 people who have submitted the fees...
Please hurry up as time is near to close ...
We waitlisted people will have a chance.. It seems..
I think first waiting list will clear upto Rank 85 atleast...
Waiting to submit fees now atleast in one institute..  )

Any ground work that we need to do, before joining the classes? I was planning to do so some financial studies so that there's a smooth transition.
Any books (with exact author name would be better*) that you would advise, to start off with.
* Makes it easier to search on Google ;-)

Dnt wrry dude...once the fess acceptance n all is done...u all will be given some pre-joining assignments...this is wht had happened last year...and i believe the same wud continue this year as well...tht wud require a lil more than simple ground wrk.. 
anyways...if u wanna do somethin for finance...start off wid "How to read a Balance Sheet"...a very famous book by Prof. Bhattacharya...

Do ppl attempt CFA at IITR ? I heard the craze has started in most of the B Schools........ Is there any certification in marketing/Finance which can be taken up to improve the summer placements ? Anybody aware of some CFM certi ?

CFA and FRM are two of the most popular certifications in fin...trends for various certifications hv begun here too...n yes...they certainly do add weight to ur CVs for summers as well as final placements....!
