Hey Prasad Thanks a lot for the update. This will reduce our anxiety since we have some update from ur side. However your post has created new anxiety. So prasad bhai do the implementation of OBC quota affect the waitlisted candidates in any way. Probably this should be the query of everyone waitlisted. So please throw some gyan on this


P.S:-If I am not wrong IIT's will be implementing only 9% of reservation this year. That too with a prior increase of seats of 13%. Prasad bhai is this info correct

I got the confirmation mail for the initial application i.e wen i applied to sjmsom... N i ve also sent the scanned copy... Kindly tel me wat shud i do?? shud i shoot a mail to admissions from my id?? how can i ask them to update wen the intial one was right...confused.....pls let me know !!!

Yes, implementation of OBC quota will affect wait listed people, But in a positive way.

Frankly No idea as of now.....How much % seats to increase depends on individual IIT as it is subjected to how much each IIT can afford due to resource constraints.....

will the delay in releasing the waitlist go on to affect the eventual date of registration and class commencement also ???? the dates mentioned in our offer letters are "tentative" hence this question....

Hello Jagadeesh,

The seniors might not be in a position to answer this query, since they wudnt have been involved in this OBC discussions. Also, I presume IIT-M has already made it VERY clear that those selected initially in General Category have NOT been moved to the OBC category. So why all this hue and cry... I dont understand!!

Please remain calm and as loadstone has said, expect the results to be delayed...

very unlikely that the date of joining will be delayed as all the departments commence their classes on the same date.. plus, we have enough time (close to 3 months) to sort out the issues on hand
