hi nitin,

tomorrow is not a working day..so usually no one would pick up the phone..but u can give it a try..otherwise monday morning...

we would send out the confirmation mails on or after 22nd...just try calling up the admissions office tomorrow otherwise u can enquire on monday...

its not a working day tomorrow...still u might give it a try and call up...

if they (sjsom) will not refund any fees.. this wil hamper our (waitlisters) chance of getting admission
no one will cancel their seat if they'l not get any refund
also say at the time of commencement of classes those people (who r joinin sm where else ) don't appear... iit wont cal anyone coz they don't fill all the seats... last yr. batch strength 53 speaks 4 itself
in case they'l call then ppl like me who hv other calls would hv joined other insti's n classes of other insti's start a month b4 iit's classes ... at that time if any1 will leave that insti for iit... that will b a straight loss of 2-3 lakhs... depending upon insti

posting for those 5 puys who are waitlisted after me. Mine WL is 59 as SJMSOM but, mostly i am not joining in all probabilities.

Deciding to not join SJM was a very difficut decision. More over the decision is based on the fact that 59 is dificult to clear and my other convert is equally good as SJM.

that makes you puys count one up. lol.

Best of louck to all and congrates t all who got in SJMSOM.

Mostly this is my last post and must say this was a great experience being in this forum

I'am really excited and looking forward to join SJMSOM after being waitlisted at No.3 . I have few queries.

1. How are the placements for finance? What are the companies and the profiles that students are being offered . I wanted to raise this question because SJMSOM is widely known to be very strong in operations and systems.

2. What are the electives offered for finance . I did see in the ciricullam that there are around 12 courses that are mentioned . But are all of them being offered?

3. Will we have time to pursue other activities like preparing for CFA and other financial certifications . How many of you got time to complete such certifications?

1. Please refer the placement report. It has information about the companies and profiles. A lot of new finance companies have been added in this years placements.

2. The electives offered depends on the interest shown by the students. Some electives are dropped as less than 6 students show interest in these. All electives important from placement perspective are definitely offered as the students take keen interest in them. Usually, around 75% of the electives shown in the website are taken up by the students.

3. You will have to make time for CFA and your other interests. It all depends on your priorities. Last year, more than 20% of the batch had spent considerable time preparing for CFA. However, the numbers reduced later, as many of them dropped their plans and withdrew their application due to the legal issues with CFA. The junior batch would certainly beat the senior's stats by a big margin!
