XAT used gives offbeat topils earlier but since past two yrs they have focussed on social essays. Carbon credits cud be a good topic for this yr. Jst a suggestion.

Some essays featured in the past:

- "If youth knew, If age could"
- when asked ________- which one of his works he considers his masterpiece, he replied "my next one" (can't rmbr the name of the felow hr)

Essay is compulsary though it is not taken in consideration when calls are given out.
Sometimes essays are discussed during PI.

xat essays are compulsory..though they have no part to play in giving out of calls..
and it appears in the interview, where u r grilled about it..
howevr, many a times there is no mention of the essay in the intrview..(it seems as if they loose a couple sheets in transportation ) n then u actualy feel like-' y d heck did i write it in d first place thn??!! i cud hav as well played tic-tac-toe on it..!! '

JOKES APART, take it very very seriously if u sincerely want to make it to XLRI..coz u nevr kno when-and-how it appears agn to torment u..
