Threads for complaints against BSchools:- An initiative for transparency in EDUCATION - 28-03-2008, 05:39 PM

Puys
We all are a part of a terrific community called Pagalguy. Started for MBA aspirants to interact with each other PG has become THE ultimate info sharing platform for one and all. All of us at some point or the other have toiled hard, burnt midnight oil and let go of many luxuries just to try and get into a decent B-School.

However there are times when due to certain unknown factors deserving candidates are left in the lurch maybe because the seats that they are entitled to are auctioned off as management seats or maybe because the college takes a dislike for a particular candidate and makes ‘arrangements’ so that a particular student or set of students are devoid of admission.

I have created this thread for the sole reason of finding the exact cause of the anomalies in the admission processes of various colleges public or private. If any puy has any grudge against a particular college’s admission process then please put it forward in decent language in this thread. Please don’t spam the thread for no reason at all.

All existing B-School students are requested to let the officials answer the queries as this thread is specially related to official versions. We don’t want hearsay and second hand info. We want first hand official info so that we can know what is the truth.

I know that many of you maybe thinking as to why would an official come to this thread to answer a query. The reason is that B-Schools are very image conscious and would want to maintain a clean image. After all they are catering to students and if B-Schools have a bad image in front of students then automatically there credentials will be frowned upon.

Please note this thread is to be used to post only those grievances where a particular student or set of students cleared all the GD/PI process etc. and felt that there was no reason why they should have been devoid of an admission. An example is given below:-

“For admission to the batch of 2008-10 SCMHRD created a waitlist of 25 students. Entire waitlist got cleared much before the due date. But due to some unknown reasons no second waitlist was given out in spite of enough evidence existing that many students had withdrawn their fees and left enough seats vacant.
The SCMHRD authorities in spite of repeated phone calls refused to respond about the reasons for not issuing a second waitlist. They should be held guilty of such gross misconduct. It is alleged that they are auctioning off the seats. The authorities are requested to come clear on the aforementioned issue.”

OKAY PUYS START POSTING THE COMPLAINTS IN THE PRESCRIBED FORMAT

P.S.- Instead of multiple posts please edit your earlier posts. U can also use the pm facility to get the original user to add some info his/her previous posts.

@ Mods

Can we get some AICTE officials in this thread so that they can get to know what grievieances students have and also can shed light on some of the queries students have regarding regulations and directives of AICTE for MBA programs?

Re: Threads for complaints against BSchools:- An initiative for transparency in EDUCA - 28-03-2008, 06:28 PM

Hi Fellows,
thanks for the wonderful effort. As already posted, would it be possible to bring this thread to the notice of AICTE so that they also come to know wat these B schools are up to.
I would like to bring the admission porcedure under the scanner for their lack of transparepancy ( forgive my audacity; could not find a better word).
1. SCMHRD.
No second WL being declared though 1st list last call is over and people still leaving their seats with the results of XLRI, XIMB,IIFT coming out.
The colg officials seems to be tightlipped and any mail does not fetch a reply. Calls are not being taken. They are not updating any information in their website either.
People are at a dark and sceptical whether the vacant seats are being filled though management quota. There is no way one can know how many candidates are taking up through management quata after being admitted to the college.
2.NMIMS
The college is again tight lipped about the declaration of first waitlist. The information in their website say that candidates will be individually informed. But people won't know whether they are being called on the basis of their merit or money. Also the officials are not saying anything about the date of second counselling. The scenario for Management Quata too is hazy.
The student counsellor herself is not sure of the ongoing admission procedure and the tentative date for second counselling.

I strongly feel that these colleges being top notch instis are not setting the right example in front of the future managers. Transparency and ethics should start at home.
Just wonder if there is any way so that these instis are forced to throw some light on their adm proc. I guess AICTE has the battery to this torch

I beg pardon if I have used too harsh words; might be that I am getting a bit frustrated.
Any better solution will be welcome.

I had a talk with one of the MODS. AICTE officials will have to be brought here by independent and individual efforts only. The MODS wont be doing that.

Puys look around in ur network. Find an AICTE official so that the matter can be taken up by them.

P.S.- Please use the prescribed format to post ur complaints. Please dont spam.

However strong may be your point, it's always polite and decent to post in small regular font. People will still read your post as curiously. Please edit your post with the unnecessarily large font, it would be a nice gesture.

There used to be a time when i thought taht PG would help us do something worthwhile.... whether it was exam prep or insitutes which were erring and untruthful in various ways. No more does this thought cross my mind. Even the mods here are unfair so to speak. But since u mods are the ones who have the power to close threads, please close this one too as I am no longer interested in being a part of this community. My last post on PG.
Thanks for all the help that was provided and all the crap that was doled out to me.

I just closed your thread on your request - I have a feeling you are wasting the junta's time by acting this way though. Thanks for being on PG for so long. Au revoir.
