Mate u are very right with your observation as i have seen IRMA from close quarter(my two close friends are IRMANS) and its true that except few most these people runs behind the money and package and curses the manageemnt for not allowing the MNCs for recruitment..............
Still i would say its one fo the best institute in india and would like to place it in the league of IIMs in terms of brand value even if you want big bucks you can close your eyes and join IRMA............there is a saying in irma "IRMANs are not brhind the money it does not means money is not behind the irmans " I am not sure about the first line but second line is certainly true
ALL the best

i guess sudama has done a lot of research abt irma..but tell me..why does not irma allow indian consultancies which are working in the rural sector 2 come...its another fact that it is among the top 20 b schools in the country..agreed....then why icici bank...is it a no profit bank....i guess no..kamath is thre in the rural market 2 make money..even if u read the article it says 40 percent of graduates skip out frm this sector..then why this hoopla..hardly 10 -15 percent join ngo's....and so called cooperatives....the whole jist is that irma does potray itself 2 be caring fr the rural sector but somehow this focus is now losing sheen these days...

One more thing post kurien this is no longer the same IRMA....so plz dont associate mr kurien with this institute..moreover a large no of professors have left aftr mr kurien went..this is the reason a senior gave me regarding the reduction in batch size.....anyways not 2 discourage the call getters,....u deserve kudos to be here.....

Viraj bhaiya itna gussa........let me tell you one thing that when IRMA was established in 1979 by Dr Kurien he thought that even if 5% of batch strength works for rural India then IRMA has achieved its mission........so dont worry......its upto you to come in this 5% or become part of 95%........moreover 2 yrs of education focussing on rural India plus 1 or 2 yr of serving rural sector after MBA is more then enough for an average urban Indian........out of around 70 yrs of yr life you had dedicated 4 yrs for Rural India.....Good ACHIEVMENT by any means.......kitne log karte hai batao......i hope i make some sense
