Today IMT results were out and yet again they have just mentioned that you have been waitlisted but wouldn't it be better if they had also mentioned the waitlist number or rank.

I feel the institutes shud display the marks or relative ranks and the cut off for selection rather than just saying u have not been selected

i think there z a wave of dissent against the procedures f b schools nd its gonna sweep them someday...the problem z despite charging us a cool 1000 bucks for the application form there z no accountability from their side...

1. My work ex with my family business was a thorn in getting in some good b-schools. If that wz the case y didnt they mention such biases specifically in their prospectuses for eg: we prefer women or for that matter ppl with family business background need not apply.

2. I have the prospectus of Great Lakes in my hand and pg no 17 reads
"Fees paid will not be refunded if the student withdraws after the commencement of the program" As soon as the results were announced, GL gave the students a deadline of 31st March after which the fees would nt be refunded. After some hue and cry, the date wz extended to 10th of April. But, the best part of the story is that the course commences on the 22nd of April. How do we act against such discrepancies ? GL z not even under the ambit of AICTE. And it is not a coincidence that 10th of April is just before the announcement of results by IIM's followed by a heavy movement of all other wait lists.

3. The B Schools feel their brands would be eroded by admitting the heavy movement of their waitlists. A reputed Pune based B School has reportedly called up some person at wait list no 15. Despite this the official response of the institute is 'Waitlist has nt moved by a single seat'. Common grow up .... In this age of PG and connectivity, whom are u kidding ? This would have worked 10 years back.
