So, what we see here is that your Qualifying Examination Score of XAT, ATMA or MAT is not taken into consideration while drawing up the list of candidates who are to be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
Work Experience

For Work Experience weigtage, only students with full time work experience is considered. But this consideration comes with a rider, the work experience is considered only for experience of more than 12 months and more. The weigtage for work experience is given on the basis of a fixed proportion i.e. a candidate with an experience of say, 12 and 18 months will receive a score of 3.33 and 5 respectively. Any body with a work experience of 30 months and more stand to gain the full 10 percentage points reserved for Work Experience in the Selection Criteria.
Advantage B.E, B. Tech
When it comes to calculate the 10 % weigtage for degree marks, the engineering graduates’ marks are multiplied with a factor of 1.10 to make it a level playing field for engineers when compared with the marks of other graduates of science and commerce background.
Reservations Followed
Being a minority institution the institute reserves 50 % of its seats for Christian students. Another reservation followed is that 50 % of the seats are reserved for female students. So of the 120 student’s intake in SJCBA the Breakup after reservations are as follows:
General male: 30 seats
General female: 30 seats
Christian/Catholic male: 30 seats
Christian/Catholic female: 30 seats
Category of Short List for GD & PI
For short listing of students for group discussion & personal interview a ratio of 1:4 is followed i.e. for every 4 student attending group discussion & personal interview in each category only 1 student is selected. The four categories of short list along with the number of students called in each category are as follows:
General male: 120 students
General female: 120 students
Christian/Catholic male: 120 students
Christian/Catholic female: 120 students
So a total of 480 students would be called for the group discussion & personal interview round from which 120 students would be selected. However during the year 2008, a total of 1080 students were called for group discussion & personal interview round owing to a large number of applications received.
The Final Shortlist
A unique part of the selection process of SJCBA is the Essay Writing parameter which has 5 % weigtage to gauge the writing skills of the potential candidates. Also it is in this round that the all India Test Score of XAT, ATMA or MAT is taken into consideration with a 25 % weigtage.
