Yea, last year too there was a buffer. Not very sure abt the number though.
hmm.... hv a different opinion here.. had called up admission office quite a few times initially. They always said that they were expecting a bigger change this time because of a greater overlap with XL. They were in fact expecting a final convert till around waitlist no. 100. This information was supported with an amazing movement of 64 in the first waitlist clearance. The admn office can obviously not be 100% sure as it all depends on the withdrawls... but wondering why the trend of revised lists every 15 days not happening this yr..
Called up XIMB.. it seems there was no buffer last time .. but this time we have 15 ppl already ahead of us.. so this implies that guy at WL 1 is effectively WL #16, and person at WL 35 is WL #50. 50!!!!!!!!
And me at WL 6 i.e. effecttive WL #21 has 60% chances , as per adm office.. Guy at WL 19 i.e. WL34, has 40 % chances.

hey.. u seem to hv got angry at that! anyway.. well i did ask him about the expected date of movement of WL, and while all these days they had been saying May end, this time he said June 12th!! let's all take a long vacation... things will happen really slow here, trust me

I understand... we're in the same boat I've already informed my bosses about this and now they seem to be even more worried and keep asking me about the status
