Depends on a lot of things....

Your work experience, your personal life and time to be devoted for family, etc.
Take a decision after analysing your situation. Placements are good in both...

ok... without knowing ur background, i can't give a definite answer... but consider the following parameters...
1. Work-ex :- freshers n ppl with less work-ex should definitely opt for the 2-yr course
2. Alumni network: 1-yr course has almost non-existent alumni network due to the fact that the consecutive batches do not interact much
3. Time availability: Simply, if u're getting married in one-yrs time, 2 yr-course might not be the best for u
4. Two-yr course is the flagship programme of XLRI
5. Other factors that i can't think of rite now.

The final decision is always yours...

Nope!! Didn't make it.
Not even waitlisted.
Ahh well, will have to wait till the 11th now.
Best of luck to all those who made it.
For others like me, hopefully we have something better waiting.

Re: [2008] XLRI Results Out ! - 25-03-2008, 06:39 PM

Congratulations to all call-getters! Start partying, people - get it all done with before coming here.

Me, I shall deal with the wait-listers. The XL waitlist is my forte, because I was at 14 for PM& IR last year and 44 for BM. The wait list went till 31 (32?) for PM& IR and 43 for BM. The year before, the PM& IR waitlist went till 13 and BM till the late 60's.

Now for my expert analysis *ahem*. (Please take with a pinch of salt. If it's wrong, please don't blame me!)

Last year's unusual waitlist movements were basically because of two things:
1. The OBC quota issue, because of which the IIM results took a long time in coming. So a few people paid up the XL fees and finally decided to go with XLRI even after converting one of the lower IIM's.
2. The fact that people could apply to both BM and IR. Before that, they had to make a choice even before applying. This basically affected the PM& IR waitlist, because a lot of people had both converts, and dropped PM& IR for BM. Whereas only five people dropped BM for PM& IR.

So there you go. Assuming that this analysis holds, PM& IR movement should be similiar to last year. BM will be different.

All the best, guys!
