As per my knowledge,
PGDBM is post graduate diploma which can be offered by any inst
MBA is the degree which universities are providing. eg symbiosis, NMIMS, UBS etc.

actually in all over the world MBA is more common, i mean degree than PGDBM but not necessary that it will be always better, as quality of either also depends on the inst from which you have completed it.

i will suggest u before choosing between MBA and PGDBM, you first choose between insts.

Also, if you plan to study further i.e. MS/Phd than MBA helps.

IITs provide MBA and not the PG diploma.

Would advice you to go by brand value of the B-school than the degree it offers.
