Dont think u should look at any alternate options....VKRV Rao it is for almost all of the outstation students (both batches) and so its gonna b in ur case too

Once ur done with ur admsn...come to VKRV and collect the hostel forms(think it costs Rs 100)....take the form with u and submit it by the last date, which is sometimes arnd mid June (as was the case last year). Caution deposit and stuffs needed to b paid once u come down here for classes. I have posted the entire process on this thread itself. Do search for it.

d fact o d matter is the guy did not even check d attestations dat i had on my photocopies (not my photocopies but my documents' ).....he just asked for d xerox, i handed him d entire bunch (1 copy each); he just saw whether all of the documents r thr or nt, n kept it in d file....

so if u can get attestations done by the proper ppl, get it....if u cant, dont bothr..(tho bttr b safe than sory)..

in any case, u have to get attestation from gazetted officers (etc.) only on ur Xth n XIIth marksheets' xerox....on the graduation 1, u nd self-attested photocopies....

As per AICTE Regulations, an Institute can keep back only Rs 1000/-. Balance of advance fees paid has to be refunded. FMS being a respectable wing of Delhi Univ would definitely refund the amt as per rules!

This is again a continous process. As and when the admission deadline for 1st list is over and there are empty seats(if at all), then those many candidates from w/l are promoted to the main list. This continues till the batch gets finalised.

Usually people leave FMS for XL and IIMs. Since XL is already out with its result, expect the w/l to nudge ahead. Once IIMs are out with the result, u will see a fast movement in w/l (again very speculative and depends on many factors like overlapping calls, etc.).

Till that time, all u can do is wait and pray for things to turn in ur favour.

P.S: Also heard that (though m nt very sure) that the admin people will call u up to inform u on ur w/l clearnce..so u shudnt worry much about it.

had gone to submit teh fees on 26th..found out abt da hostels for gals too..
most ppl prefer saraswati or the one in roop nagar..think its called 8/8..most of the 2008 batch gals (who will be passing out soon) have taken those rooms up..its pretty decent.. it wud be great if all the gls of the same batch stay in d same area..i personally preferred the roop nagar wala place.. n i booked a room right there.. if any of the girls are interested, could you please pm me..

Hey, called up VRKV and they say that we need to furnish the admission slip given at time of payment at FMS. After which, an application form is to be filled and then we wait till the hostel releases a list (in June) of students offered a room. At that time, a CASH payment of about 17,000 is to be made. All this info is from a telecon i had with the admn guy in the hostel...

Any Senior verifying/concurring with this??

If the list comes out on 30th June, and FMS starts on the 1st of July, isnt it going to be a little too late?

PPPl from delhi....how do u plan to commute. I live in West delhi. dont think it wont be possible to commute.....i might loook for some accomodation near college....
Seniors..... Suggest some places...i think its a bit early but still when should i start looking because i think the accomodation might be limited.

i think most of the ppl from delhi in current batches prefer commuting daily..
i stay in south delhi but mite shift to west by july.....
n there many ways we can travel....u-special, metro, car pools, nd "last but not the least"(tht was my extempore topic for MS) DTC bus sewa.
