I am an OT FF guy.... cant say much about the LH rooms...
Its not luck... u come ... find the rooms empty take one.... thats it..
It with all the rooms...

Now life at LH...
Well amazing i dont think so...
it generally happens that these guys stick together.. OT or HT is better in that front..
U would not be allowed in the girls section first of all, so no added benefit
Also its mandatory to vacate those rooms whn u become seniors...
According to me being close to quad it has its own disadvantages...

A much better view would be given from some senior who has stayed in LH..

Apart from that its ur choice... n reasons.. for choosing a particular room...

No waitlisters cannot join the google group.. only the ones selected

kya akshat sir...even i am a waitlister and also i'm a member in the google group. even i saw a post by some senior tht even waitlisters can join....!!! well the moderator accepted me even you guys can give a try. go to Google Groups and search for gim batch of 2008-10. ab is post ko dekh k mujhe kick on the back deke bhaga mat dena!!!!

I guess it might be a mistake from the moderator.... the group is for the ones who have been selected... waitlisters once u get selected u will also be allowed to join in...

Neways i guess it does not make any sense joining the group till ur not a part of GIM...

Err...i'd beg to differ sirjee...coz i specified tht i'm a waitlister whn asked to tell description whn u hav 2 apply for membership!! buh...still u r correct and it's of no use b4 myself being a part of GIM....n it feels.

Well in our year on the opening day when the rooms allotment began, there were not many people so who all were there had the first option of choosing the rooms..

It will invariably happen that not 120 of u will reach at the hallowed time when Mukesh, the warden, starts with the allotment.. so the ones there would have the first opportunity... and if it does happen.. I would miss such an amazing fun...

Now what happens is on that day,the rooms will be opened around a particular time say 10 or 11 in the morning, so the guys present thr will have the opportunity to look at the rooms available n select...

Guys the ones locked would be ur rooms(PGP2s), so dont battle with the locks so that u can open one... have patience till the 23rd of june....

Next keep two or three rooms(or may be more) in mind... as surely others might have selected them too... as u never know whn those get occupied whn u r still looking for one...

U guys have to inform Mukesh, who would check whether the room(s) have already taken etc etc.. u guys know the procedure...

Its a sort of go run.. but not capture.... be rational n mature.. select... as most rooms have something different to offer and so does the hostels too...
n Mukesh is a tough guy.. he administers the whole process.... dont play any games with him from the beginning... that u might later regret...

In all this i forgot abt roomies... most rules are already explained in this forum so will not start again...

U guys have a few ways a selecting one
i) choose one from b4.. now that can change if u r not in the same section...
ii) choose one thn n thr itself b4 u choose a room...
iii) choose a room and thn wait for someone to choose the same room...

One more thing.. hostel room hardly matters... so dont bother much abt it... i know it easy said than done..

This is all what has happened last year, if any thing changes I am not responsible... (being politically correct)

I guess no.. most books will be provided by GIM.... and then library is thr if u need any particular book... and suppose u dont find one u can ask the librarian to procure it....
