The GIM admin block is an old heritage building and is more than 350 years old!!!! It is a heritage building with lots of history attached. it is supposedly the oldest hospital building in Asia. All the classrooms, library and faculty cabins are in this building. The entire GIM campus was inherited from Goa Medical/Dental College after they moved to a new site.The Hostels thus retained the name that it was christened with when the medical college was in place. Thus u have the Operation Theatre (affectionately, called as OT by everyone.) OT is THE hostel of GIM. Parties, music n late nights are part of the OT culture.
OT is the biggest hostel in GIM and houses about 100 people.
Than we have the Morgue, a rather inaccurate description coz the actual morgue is just a small 2 room structure outside it. Morgue has traditionally been associated with studious people who want some peace and quiet of their own. it has 5 double rooms, all currently occupied by seniors.
next there's Hilltop. Hill top is far away from the action. Again a good place for studious types. It houses a brilliant view. simply awe freaking some.. Not too sure as to how many rooms it houses. Quite a few rooms though. those coming in late will probably get rooms here. It has certain disadvantadges to it which I can not reveal in public forum.
Than there's the Admin block which has abt 6 rooms. 5 triples and a single. Advantadge of Admin is that there's a power failure than this is the only hostel connected to generator. Disadvantadge is that this hostel had absolutely no privacy.
Lastly there's LH. the gal's hostel.its the most modern of the hostels. Nice place. cant tell u abt the gals rooms coz its off limits. 1000 bucks fine for going into any gals rooms..5 rooms on the ground floor are are for guys. and every year there's a big rush for these rooms . These rooms are always alloted to juniors every year.
BTW gals are allowed into guys rooms at anytime ..so it will not be a hindrance to project work. but guys are strictly not allowed to go to gals rooms.
now as far as distance goes. all hostels are abt 30 seconds walk from admin block except for Hilltop.so distance is not really a problem. The campus is actually quite small as compared to some of the other B-schools but that is probably one of GIM's most appealing factors. Coz bcoz of dis, everyone knows everyone and u will end up hanging out with almost the entire batch at some point of time.GIM is really a close knit community..and this fact can only be appreciated most when we spend some time away from it like everyone's doing right now at summers..

) buttell me 1 thing which i have failed to understand over the years.. why do liverpool fail to perform in the EPL and stilmanage to perform good in UEFA.. is it plane luck or wat...!!!!!!
