Finaly, looks like calmness has paid a visit to this thread….and thank god for that. The problem is that a waitlisted candidate feels so anxious that if putting a post on this thread reduces their anxiety (even though its not gonna help)…It should be fine…just don’t turn the thread into warzone with unnecessary Groans and emphatic statements….GIM admin is going about its job diligently and God willing many of you will get thru…pray for yourself….and pray for others to get into IIMs!!!!

@Alien

Well I had followed your advice and came down to Goa to give the draft and boy wassit beautiful….Guys I swear the Mandovi coast can give the French Riviera and Monte Carlo a run for its money. And apart from being picturesque its also a hotbed of industry and enterprise. I really hope they turn out to be two best years of my life…even though a lot remains to be seen…..

Well about the vehicle, sadly GIM does not allow cars and I do not own a two wheeler. As far as opposite sex is concerned, I think I will start a new tradition by trying to attract the affections of a “scooty owner” to look after my transportation needs….

Rest is all fine, waiting for June…Like all spoilt children, my parents bankrolling my MBA…..No chasing loans and stuff…..these will turn out to be the two Vellaest months of my life

And Finally a word of caution for all new entrants, Kindly get all your papers in order, especially the migration certies from ur Universities, Clercs derive a lot of sado-masochistic pleasures in making ur run…crib…and Grovel for documents when you need them the most, so util;ise this time and get the paperwork sorted…it’ll save u a lot of locha later on…

hey as far as hostel goes..after u pay up ur second installment of fees , u ll get a letter wid receipt in which the days for refresher course and day when hostel allotment will begin will be mentioned...room allotment will be on FCFS basis (on the day mentioned in letter and onwards) ...5 hostels as u must be knowing by now...OT, admin, morgue ,LH and hilltop....OT is where all the action is ...the true zone of all GIM activities...I blindly chose a room in OT last year...and never regretted it since...A few rooms in Hilltop worth considering..the most picturesque of places..u wont get any rooms in morgue coz all the rooms are taken by seniors...Admin wud probably be a last choice...and LH, well , hmmm...5 rooms up for grabs..another reason to come early..gals hav no choice but to stay in LH...

as far as ur cars go, well slog it out for a term without it...after that it shd be ok to get it...but this is just a personal view and not one advocated by college....

yup...we get a brilliant view from coll...lotsa other places to explore to...sinquerim,vagator, chapora fort, tambdi surla just to name a few.....Do explore ard when u get the oppurtunity....

cheers

Well yes if u r late u might have to stay in a 3 seater room.... but one thing its never a regret if u r in a 3 seater or a 2..... i would say 3 seaters are bigger... and more fun.... though i had a 2 seater room...GIM has 2 sections A and B as already told b4... what i feel the rationale behind sharing rooms of same section students is that as timings of classes, sometimes projects etc. of the 2 sections are different.... so when a room mate is doing work other wants to listen to loud music... this can be solved if they are of same sections as generally will have same work times,sleeping times etc... trust me i know it helps a lot... especially for those 8:30 am classes.... i dont have the count of how many rooms are thr but allan has given an amazing description of the hostels...

There is no harm in giving the waitlist numbers.... but its generally seen that GIM adminstration wants less hassles.... So if they feel there is a vacany they would inform b4 the due date of 2nd installment.... which i have already spoken in one of my previous posts... Also once u pay the 2nd installment they are sure about how many are joining.. it makes no sense to come out with a waitlist of 120 or so when they know from past records that about a 15 odd make through.... This helps the students too as they exactly know whr they stand and what are there chances of getting through such that they can make decisions on their other calls...I know u guys are really eager... it the same with all wait listed candidates.... But take my words be patient.... in hindi we say... sabre ka fhal metha hota hain....

hey seniors i had one doubt....well if they by chance give waitlist nos or they jus start sending calls....will that be on the basis of just the profile of that person or will the marks of GD/PI b also considered.

Like they have a list of 120 first list ppl they must have be having a list about the rest... u will not be selected according to ur profile.. everything counts GD PI etc.... its just like a normal selection... and it also depends upon the payment of fees.... as in u must pay ur fees (35k) to be a part of any list..... so if ur first on the waitlist that means ur were 121... just missed by a whisker.... They can do both .... but it generally happens that they will call the ones selected..... and after May 5th the ones in the waitlist have to find out their numbers... Now again the same question arises if they have the numbers y they dont release it.... rite... I would answer this b4 u guys again start asking... the reply is the same as b4 they want to sure about the students in the first list.. as in by thr second installment and then release the wait list accordingly....

thank you guys for such a beautiful description.. now we have a decent idea about the place.. but 1 thing i m surprised about is that why the hostel is divided in such categories?? why dont we have a single hostel.. and how far are each of these places located from each other??
