Hey people, Sachit pm'd me asking for confirmation of having sent the money or not. I have replied to him, and i shall post my reply here as well, for the bene fit of the waitlisters.

I was in the 1st list of GIM. But subsequently, i have been selected by XIMB and IMT. So i opted out. I can confirm that i have not sent the first instalment to GIM.

I only hope that this thing gets cleared up soon for you people's benefit. I know how problematic this can be, I'm myself waiting for the delayed IIM results.

Then guys I can definately say that GIM has given more than 120 calls. Its dissapointing for all the waitlisters like me. Hope there is something better in store for us all.

Anku, i think you are right. No college gives out the exact number of calls as the number of their seats. There has to be some buffer. I don't know what the buffer is(haven't been following this thread for some time now.), but i would expect it to be something like 30-40 more calls.

Don't worry. There is surely something better waiting for you people.

i doubt that"Buffer " theory if this is the case then whats the use of giving waitlist.
there should be two lists only "confirmed -selected" and "waitlist" as it will be very difficult to judge the number of "buffer" candidates for any institute.

true, if they did have a buffer, they wouldnt have asked the waitlisted candidiates to pay up 35k..

ok, seeing all the anxious waitlisted people here, and being waitlisted myself for some other insti... I really wish to say something that i have been telling myself for the last few days... Many people who have been selected for GIM but may have been waitlised for other instis wud hv also sent their DD's unsure of making it to the other insti ... like XL, XIMB(one eg is me).. i paid the fees for GIM because i am not sure of converting my other call.... and hence dint wanna let go off this seat.... so, i sent the DD... coz i believe the fees shud be refunded after subtracting 1000 Rs.. So all is not lost even if the admin office says that they have received fees for all 120 candidates... keep hoping and keep praying....

look..i called up GIM b4 booking tickets and I was told that Refresher classes will start from 12th..confirmation for the same wud be intimated thru mail..they were nt willing2 disclose the dates..but i smhw requested and managed this info...i wud suggest that u too confirm personally...but I am sure and I have booked my tickets accordingly..so I am sayng all this in UTMOST GOOD FAITH...and I see no reason why they wud misguide me....

thanks for the info..... i ll reschedule my tickets after i confirm with the authorities...... by the way when i called up i was said to wait for the official mail for getting any details on admission front.......

dude, i sumhow don believe ths buffer theory... ridiculous !!!imagine a candidate who has a buffer call sayin CONGRATULATIONS ! U HAVE BEEN SELECTED ..........PLS PAY...........and he goes thr n they say SORRY BUT NO SEATS...the candidate will sue the college they simply cant give sure buffer calls!

I am a waitlisted candidate.. i am hoping to get some good news tomorrow.. because of delay in IIM results things will still remain hazy for many of us...

coz it will affect waitlist movement in XLRI-->XIMB-->and ultimately GIM...
