Did the people (25 people who voted that they are not taking the admission or the 13 people who were contacted personally) post wrongly that they would deny the admission and later accepted the admission??? Will it remain an unsolved mystery as the admissions wud be closed today and people would not bother to come back to this thread ??
What is really suprising is that only 6 people from the first list have cancelled their admission... | something seems to be fishy... | | | | | | | |

Hmmmm...
As far as 25 people backing out is concerned...I think its all because of the extra calls issued right at the start...
I don't smell anything fishy because I have seen almost 3 batches(2007..2008...2009) gone past with only a few people converting waitlists (But yes thr were conversions none the less)...infact my batch (200 thr were 3 ppl in waitlist who converted and joined us only after the initial few days...(after revision classes or tutorial classes)..
The session begins in couple of days...So I wud like to wish good luck to the guys who will be heading towards goa and for those who unfortunately couldn't convert...Life doesn't end here and GIM is anyhow not an IIM...
Life moves on and so shall you...Good luck for the future...And I am sure everyone will do well for themselves

Hi Guys,
If you are looking for any info...kindly scroll down cos this is a purely reflective post. A celebration of an ahem...."EVENTFUL" journey...a journey that actually began when my journey to a final call had come to an end...(A YEAR LATE..DOSENT MATTER!!!)
I am still to come to terms with the fact that this thread might actually be closed. After I got the GIM final call on that fateful march day, I had been following this thread making a humble little contribution every now and then.
The best thing being that I did it incognito under the alias of Severus Snape, and when I refused to give my name despite people asking, no one really took offence. And as at PG, so at GIM, as long as you dont trouble people, do your job sincerely, they just let you be.
Getting back to my reflection of my assosiation with this thread, I must say it has given me a lot more than just info. Me being vella during the past 2 months except for a couple hours during morning and evening, I had lot of time to post long write ups and I got many mails. I might sound cocky but it was an amazing ego boost My post regarding the backpacks probably being my debut on this thread. Ironically, I myself was left with a not so great HCL backpack to keep my fine HP machine cos the packs were outta stock in Mumbai.
Besides, It was totally wierd to see people recognise "Snape" far more than me.....and the fact that I dont remotely resemble the cold and intense wizard dosent help matters either.... even leaving some people amazed. Some people even tried putting my nickname as Snape...but s I knew it, it didnt stick..Nicknames are not given...tey evolve, and like a brandname they succintly define the person in one short word...
I came into contact with so many of my batchmates on this thread and every time it was a new experience telling people that hey....by the way I am Snape!!!
I know this is not the place but I am sure that this post, actually posted from my hostel room, the OT 8A, which has the most magnificent view of the Mandovi River, is not complete without a slight mention of my life here at GIM.
Its a new start in more than one ways. Being a single child I was never used to having other people of my age living with me. That itself is a big and very positive change. Never been to a hostel. So living here on my own is another new chapter.
Thankfully my freshly renovated room room is amazing. Had this cozy thing been up for sale, I am sure it will fetch the highest price among the entire OT pads. The goodness of my room is matched by that of my roomie. (he too...has been so far so good...considering that seeing my ways, my maa had once prophecied that a day will come in Goa when I will get beaten up by my roomie for stinky socks!!!). A former full fledged government officer, this elec engineer, unlike other engineers who trade the spanner for a consultancy job, got his hands dirty running a power plant in Delhi. He has got such an amazing bank of stories from his sarkari job days that we will never be short of cases to discuss.
The system at GIM is quite amazing. Here there are not many rules. But those which are there, its advisable not to touch them with a barge pole. Everything is geared towards the allround development of the students. The staff is so helpful. There are smoothly functioning systems and there is no rigidity in most matters. These people believe in theory X, that there will be people that will go about doing there job properly. Prima facie there seems a level of trust in the entire community.
I am sur that If I keep my head in place, and do this thing properly, It will be one of the best 2 years of my life....and my career will take a turn for te better.
Last but not the least, Thank the starter of this Thread "Loveekansal" whom I had the fortune of meeting here and everyone who has contributed to this thread in a positive way and made it so dear to so many people beacuse I am sure many will share my feeling about this amazing thing. GIM FINAL Results out!!!
And finally, If this theread is not actually closed, and goes on,rigours of GIM notwithstanding, this will not be my last post.
