Well I have just sent them a mail asking them if they have prepared the waitlist numbers which is most probably the most essential thing if any one of us is to get a call ... If they say nothing has been decided as of now, then I guess our chances look very bleak to say the least ...

I don't know what harm it would do if they cud give us waitlist ranks and expected dates of releasing them. If U guys thinkin that GIM may be indulging in unethical practices than rest assured this does not happen here...Me being a Goan, I know of one particular case in previous years in which a Political Heavyweight in Goa tried to put a lot of pressure on the administration to get his ward into GIM offering huge financial rewards...and the administration didn't budge an inch...
I have no idea as to why the process is taking so long..What I do know is dat last time there were abt 4 students who got admissions in the last week run up prior to college ..i.e. betn 14-21st of June...As i mentioned earlier, some parts of the admission process remain confidential and are not revealed..maybe when u get admission this will be clearer..
Admission does depend upon other factors other than great scores and gud performances in GD/PI...ability to work in teams, past consistency in perfomances, balances in batch strength in terms of region, sex, experience etc...
As for ur DD's, dats a trivial matter guys..U will be getting it back rest assured if the news is not favourable...remember u gotta look at potential gains-losses... if u lose hope now ,than your eagerness to get ur 35K back today cud potentially lose u a dream profile and an annual package of a million tom...
All the best to U guys waiting for good news and an invitation to paradise...

Hi all, Even I had an info like the case of pressure on GIM admin that alien had mentioned, but see, now its confirmed. All those people who think we worship GIM and cant see no wrong in its ways take heed….Its not a perfect place, but when it comes to keeping students interest first before the monster of mammon….not many private institutes can hold a candle to GIM. Unlike XIMB (Just an example), whose entire needs were fulfilled by the Orissa government, right from plots of land to construction down to the stationary and paper pins, GIM started out from scratch. In the words of a prominent GIM academician,’’We started with nothing”. And still GIM has refused to give in to temptations of big money, all for the sake of quality, which today has made it such a sought after place. So that makes it highly unlikely that the school might be involved in unethical practices. I don’t know what is going on cos I am not the boss there. Maybe a plocy decision or some other reason for delay, running top class inti is not a cakewalk…..but guys don’t lose faith is all I can say. Special thanks to alien for such an eye opening post and I am sure it’ll go a long way in soothing rightly frayed nerves…. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to severus snape For This Useful Post:

Cheers | If they come out with the final list in the last few days before the college starts I am not sure how many will be able to take it... I don think people who are working and people who have paid at other colleges will be able to make it..I hope there is some response before the end of this month...

Some comments here seriously go uncalled for!!
first, the "bheek maang rahe ho ki humein le lo" wasnt required or in a good taste... every waitlister has paid 35k and if selected will be payin the whole amount..its an admission process and waitlisters have every right to know what is going on! nobody is beggin...
another, about the doubt of being an efficient manager....well, we are just calling a spade a spade....we appreciated GIM when it was required and now we are pointing mistakes because GIM is doing them...
15th april-19th may has been a long wait for everybody and people have lives to move on to if GIM doesnt happen..hence the anxiety and the frustration!
and most of us are not accusing GIM of under the table process...many people have posted here that they are not joining/ havnt sent the draft...and when u get a reply "all seats r full with first listers"...i dont think you can sit and take that in the right sense!!can u?
agreed there are some management decisions/delays coz of which they are making the waitlisters wait...and thts exactly wht we are pointing at! GIM admission process is Flawed!and one should accept that ! If we echoed that GIM is doing good earlier and nobody raised a question then , then now if we are echoing the faults...why the doubt on our management skills???moreover,a good manager sees and reacts to the reality and not on impressions he/she has had earlier!!
And yes about the frustration in the job comment, trust me...the frustration of waiting endlessly for a result to be declared is more...am sure nobody likes hanging in between...
apologies for such a post, but some comments here really needed clearing up.

And none of state govt cares for even papers and stationary needs of any institute untill or unless its Govt institution itself. Both the institutes were helped in providing basic infrastructure. F.Y.I. GIM was founded in 1993 when Fr. Romuald D'souza(ex Director - XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute), Jamshedpur and XIMB (Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar) moved from XIM, Bhubaneswar to create a center of learning and excellence in Goa. He along with Prof. Anwar Ali,Prof C.M. Ramesh, Prof. Ranjini Swamy, Prof. V. Gopal, Prof. Suma Damodaran, and Prof Uday Damodaran started the institute . They managed to convince the then chief minister of Goa who also happened to be the brother of Fr.Romuald D'souza to lease the campus of Goa Dental College. source - wikipedia I have also information that in the start before getting this campus GIM was started in Old DM bunglow which was also provided by Goa Government. At each and every phase GIM has been helped by GOA govt..I dont know whom u have quoted as 'prominent GIM academician' and may be he is taking credit of convincing govt to provide help into his account.
