"I apologise to other readers if i sounded a bit rude" | dats the rite spirit ankit.......though wld'nt approve of the harsh language used......but ur one waitlister I would wish gets converted. People who have a positive outlook are always welcome everywhere be it GIM or IIM. For those who are here only to critisize no matter what u say they will keep polluting this thread and inreasing the anxiety of fellow PG iites. This forum is neither mine nor urs for exclusive bashing but for a purpose that goes far beyond.
I know there are ppl out there who are just waiting for the opportunity to vent their anger at everything and the reason mite ver well be the fact that they need to get out of their frustating jobs b4 it gets to dem. Ask Me!!! I've been thru the same last year and have gone through a hell of a time. Last year I was in a soup as I was unable to convert any of my calls and had already communicated to my management about my MBA plans. The worries that trobled me were "What will the management do now about me since they know of my plans?" " will I be able to do it again next year or will I face failure again" and many more. There is no end to such questions.
But guys, frankly speaking I am thankful to GOD that I din't get into a B-school last year. People who have got work-ex need not panic as there is nothing to loose. U shall gain lot more in terms of experience, trust me. And people who are freshly out of college dont loose hope either,nd i believe u can wait unlike my friends who are waitlisted. Today I am able to tell this and share this with u'll which I never thought I would get the opportunity for.
Life will put ahead of u many situations that will make u frustated and impatient, but its up to u how u handle it. Having a winning attitude is wat matters most. Nd losers will always cry. It is said that if u believe i urself God himself will see to it that u achieve success in watever u do. Please, its a final request to all waitlisters to refrain from passing speculative comments that will unnecessarily increase the anxiety levels of others who have still got hopes. Akshay S. "I apologise to other readers if i sounded a bit rude" | Arey Blazing itni gussa ....Cool man cool down, i know it is obvious to get panic for all waitlisters but atleast control ur language.Bhikh mangna , sir phodna kya kya nai Likha tumne Bas yaar bas i know u dont need to do anything coz ur signature is reflecting some good calls but pls dont suggest these things to us.
Now coming to the point as blazing and some others also saying Positive thinking is the only best possible way to come out of this trauma, see we cant do anything as of now so better involve ourselve in something creative and work on your backup plan.
And please dont try any crazy thing as suggested by blazing . " When things get bad, pray they get worse and overcome them. Challenge yourself and push yourself to your limits. This is the only way to truly become great." --- May be next year u will fetch a seat at IIM-A kyun blazing ?

"I apologise to other readers if i sounded a bit rude" | FYI, bheekh mang kar admission lena hain toh why GIM? IIM A main hi maang lenge...
Institute has waitlisted you because it thinks you are good candidate for them.. and institute phokat main kisi ko nahi leta, and bheekh main hi admission dena hota toh kisi ko hi admission de deta...
There are two ways---one is to be satisfied with whatever is happening and don't speak anything and other is to raise your voice against the wrong and try to improve it for present and future...
I hope that everyone joining GIM will pass on the message to administration...

Needless to say, after all that has happened I don't trust GIM any more...
Just a question to the wait-listers... has anyone received a receipt for the 35K DD sent by us??
I'm afraid I don't have any proof of the DD reaching them, just a copy of the DD I sent... Apoorva

Hats off to the admission process Blazing u r gr8 man, i have become a fan of urs. I also want to think and behave like u so dat if anyday anyone from GIM admission cell will read my post will surely select me for my flattery and blind faith in GIM. I want to also praise the GIM admission process but not finding many reasons to do so.Blazing will you please highlight the positive points of the selection process over which one can hats off to it. While doing so please keep in mind the points which ravish wrote and m quoting below. Quote:

What has GIM done till now? 1) ask for 35k from people who are in second list. 2) Keep postponing the results for waitlisted students. 3) not updating the converted/waitlisted student list with who has paid fees and who hasn't 4) giving new date everytime students call on the given date 5) Not communicating the exact situation like why first delay-reason-IIM results have been delayed, etc. 6) Never giving waitlist numbers as if admission can be given in any random manner; MDI is much better in that matter--giving numbers to all who came for interviews
This actually shows that GIM admission hasn't learnt from past or have been trying new things every year which has resulted in this kind of chaotic situation. Ofcourse sweet sweet Jenny madam is not responsible but entire GIM admission office is responsible.... 1) GIM should have given waitlist numbers when results are declared. 2) If they find taking phone calls of students as painful, please keep a recorded machine- in this present world, keeping recorded machine is very cheap!! 3) Put the information on website giving some genuine reason for delay. 4) Update waiting list at every new date given-- to avoid administrative hassle, don't update everyday but atleast update waitlist movement on new date. 5) Understand that People who don't send DD is equal to they reject the admission offer. This will give them "administrative hassle" of keeping track of DDs received from converted/waitlisted students.
I am not against the PGP1 & PGP2 & converted students of GIM but before they defend GIM Administration they should realise the above.
GIM has earned reputation over period of time and all such events spoil its reputation. They are acting as if this is their first PGP batch and they don't know how to maintain lists. Even a panwala is much better in administration than ...............................
Anyways, I hope sometime later, GIM Admission office gets enlightened and improve the process, making it transparent and not causing mental trauma to prospective students..
----Peace---- | Mr. Blazing...m Hoping 2 get a list of lots of point from you so that i will also b able to Hats off GIM admission process.
PS: This is all about Admission process, every institute has some positives and negatives. And till now i have found admission process not upto mark and lacking in transparency. Although GIM is a top B-school of india but we cant say it to be flawless.

Even I don't have any proof..no receipt as such...despite mailing to them to send a confirmation abt the DD. But anyways, DDs are safe, and if the amount has been deducted from ur account, it went no where but to GIM. However, I still haven't lost my hope. List will come out. For sure. All I don't understand is that why can't they say tht it would take time and not just dissuade us by saying that there are no seats, when it is evident that there are people who have opted out..this baffles me completely. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to collidingatoms For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

Hey Guys, What on earth is happening on this thread!!! It is descending into a slugfest. See this thread was started to fill in gaps in information. And now it is being used to vent the frustrations and take potshots at one another. Insanity reloaded. Kindly stop it. First and foremost the biggest doubt in peoples minds….if 20 odd known people have left GIM final calls, then what has happened to those seats if the GIM admin is claiming that all 120 seats are full. I know many people has suggested that GIM might be going the way of a mentioned b school.., but guys give it a break….As rightly said, if your opinions and mental image of an entity changes so fast….you need to relook at your career choice as a manager. Well one explanation is the unlikely buffer call theory which has been summarily rejected. Second speculation is that as there are no WAITLIST NUMBERS, the GIM adm committee maybe taking a fresh look at all the profiles of waitlisters. See it’s a known thing that B School consciously try to maintain a diverse profile and there is nothing unethical about it. So suppose there are 22 vacancies after confirming admissions. So they might be reconsidering who is the best candidate among those waitlister to be offered an admission. So just because GIM has been sharing info freely, it now being accused of maintaining a charade of transparency. For once I feel that B Schools who rarely answer phone calls and play tennis with your call transferring it to the watchman, do the right thing…..the GIM staff is becoming a victim of its own goodness. If no decision has yet been taken, how can Ms Jenny tell you anything!!! And finally, to all waitlisted friends….GIM gets 12000 odd applications…you made it to the 1200 call getters(ONE…JUST ONE MISTAKE IN XAT AND YOU COULD HAVE BEEN IN THOSE 10800 GUYS)…..and among them you made it to 50 odd waitlisterS..so you are in the top 170 ppl among those 12000 people. Which means you are among the 1.5%...the very cream of those applicants (3.5% of all JEE applicant make it to IIT). So this indicates that you are good. Really good. All of you are educated, some working and some placed and you have made it this far….which means that GIM or no GIM you are looking forward to a really good career in this booming economy. Recession fears apart, this is the best time to be a 20something in this country. So if you panic like this as if this is the last B school on the face of this planet…you are surely either kidding yourself or are faint hearted. And I feel I have the right to write this cos I have been through a reject with nothing in hand. Although I did not have to go thru your trauma cos I knew my result at YMCA only, but still I picked up the pieces and bought a pack of HB pencils and started all over again. I had a placement in JP Morgan that paid me as much as my dads salary, but I did not work because 8+ hours work and commute would have meant the end of my MBA dream. I sat at home, lived a broke existence while my working friends made thousands and treated their entire salary as pocket money…I took a huge risk and forewent many pleasures..all on a hope that I might be part of that 1% that makes it to a good insti…. Imagine you work on a product for 2 years and you launch it and it flops. Your company loses millions and you fall in the eyes of the management. What then…will you panic…or will you take sanyas and live in jungle??? So instead of panicking and speculating just pray. Take up other offers if you have and refrain from slinging mud at an institution to which till yesterday, you were will to entrust your entire career… May god grant you your hearts desire. | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to severus snape For This Un-useful Post: | | | The Following 8 Users Say Thank You to severus snape For This Useful Post: | | | | | |
