Hii Puys....My merit num is 309....I haven't been called yet....jst got a call frm NM Office which said that i'll be called soon and i shuld be ready with all the documents...Bt officially I'm nt yet intimated abt the seat..So the last seat called till now is 308..Kindly edit the same in our list.........

bhai log can u think of any other reason why mq is lagging behind at 520s instead of 590s at the same time last year ...if yes plz pitch in.

U have done a great calcualtion but u have missed one biggest factor that is the answer to ur query and that is the fee refund rule which was not there last year.

Other reason is that there is no great difference in the fee now between a MQ of NM and Fee for IIMs (11 LAc Now) so all the candidates are now aware that other colleges will soon be hiking the fee to a level which will surely be around 8 Lacs ( Tapmi has already hiked to 7.5L & IITs have already moved a proposal to increase the fee which is also approved by education ministry.)
so what difference does it make between 8 and 11 Lacs.
Not a wrong choice to go for this small difference.

But i am doubtful if there is hike in this too.

Hi...called up NM a while back...trying to get some info on MQ seat calls...the lady said to call up after 1 and enquire.

Seems like after the last batch of MQ seat calls(which ended at 522), only 2 calls have been given to ranks 527 and 529...and the interesting part is that, rank 527 got just a "call" and no mail...whereas my friend at 529 got just a mail and no call(s)!!!

Me at 538...desperately waiting for a call/mail

did she say that they will be sending more calls today or not only 2 calls were sent

i think 34 seats are already filled so only two calls and one 307 guy will be upgraded so one more seat wud be empty
then rest all will depend on IIM results there are 1700 odd seats so 80 - 90% same students are contesting for those so these 1700 seats will be filled by selected students of MDI SPJ NMIMS etc and will create a big void in these colleges which will be filled by waitlisters and guys like us waiting close to the seat

so i think once IIM results are out waitlist movement wil be quite fast
i wish all turn up fine and all get their desired seats.
anywyas all this 6 months tenisons and pressure has started to groom us as managers

No...she did not mention anything else...just told me to call up after 1...seems like no mails r being sent today as if they had been, people wud have posted here...also I doubt there is anyone between 529 and my rank of 538 and I havent received any mail as yet...so lets just wait and see.

seeing this trend i wont be surprised if the fees for the second year are hiked

i was wondering , that if the merit fees are hiked by say 50%(conservative figure, although the trend shows 80 to 100%), wat will happen of the MQ guys , if the mq fees are also hiked by 50% it becomes 13.5L for 2 year MBA , we are surely going to get f@#$%@
