the tussle in the mind finally came to hault...
after getting selected in SJMSOM i cancelled mty seat in NMIMS but due to quota issue i again cancelled my cancellation
then i promised NMIMS deputy registrar not to withdraw my admission
but i again i hv to break my promise as i hv got the update from ur end
how embarrassing moments those will be when i will go for the cancellation 2nd time!!!
anyways i m very happy n relaxed now as u hv confirmed that gud news
In between Loadstone .. one more query... may we submit our DD by hand too
as i want to visit SJMSOM once again also will i be provided one day accomodation thr in SJMSOM

No wonder the deputy registrar Sudhakar shinde is pissed off when asked abt cancellations

I think a cancellation is considered when the whole process is completed and fees is paid to the candidate ... and not just getting a fax from student to cancel ... and this process takes around 10-15 days ... so if we consider this then only 3 cancellations have been there in merit seat .. i.e 3 ppl have got their fees back. this way ppl lk me hv to wait till may to get a final call.

Seeing ur post it came to my mind that Even if NM intentionally holds the fee of the students for a month who are seeking the cancellations then they make few lacs due to interest credited to them by the bank which is apart from the direct cancellations charges.
Good source of money for them, guys see that they are taking full year fee + Hostel fee (too Huge) so i believe they must support the cancellations as they are anyway going to get full seats occupied by people like us.

Has anybody confirmed what is the cancellation charges they are imposing on

bcoz if u cancel ur admission after that date u dont get full refund of fees , also with this quota fiasco it is quite a possibility that the admission process will get delayed till june , n i seriously doubt if IIMs will declare any result on 21st April

puys any update on the the status of WL movemet today..?? Some puys were supposed to deposit their fees today.. How many of them turned up??..
I know about one who did not turn up.. ..

I think just like last year when the quota issue was raised, IIMs decided to move ahead as starting the course was also important.
This year also(I think) IIMs will (should) move ahead with the admission list with the OBCs being provisionally admitted subject to courts guidelines.
I think they will come out with the list on 21st only.

You can cancel your admission before their course commences.... that is somewhere around mid June when their foundation courses begin

One can cancel his/her admission even after 1 month of commencement of course if the admissns are still going on...u can get a refund if there is sum1 2 occupy ur vacated seat...puys pls correct me if i m wrong

Yes, it's correct but ONLY IF there's someone else to occupy your seat.... and the way the institutes function, once you've cancelled your admission, you can never tell whether anyone has replaced your seat or not.... So I don't think that it's good enough
