{well i will go with ur questions according to the sequence...........
well psychometric test is a written test.........
its usually a subjective test, but it can sometimes be objeective too, some years back it was objective but after that it has never been objective.........
second, the case study is usually related to some brand, like marketing of a brand or it can be bout some retailer or retail chain too. my GD case was about an Export House who wants to introduce his own brand in ladies wear, so some data with him was given and some market info was there and we were asked to discuss on deciding the market segment he should cater.......
by the way, please let me know ur stream for bachelors, ur knowledge level bout the fashion and brand industry (like u know all the processes & procedures, or u just know the names), and also wether u r a fresher or an experienced one, this will help me guide u more efficiently and also to tell u some points which will help u a lot at ur GD & PI.}

{well about your third question i want to say that actually all the NIFT centres are similar in respect to th course curriculum, extra curricular activities and infrastructure, but definately there are something in the city which gives the centre an edge over others. like delhi has an advantage of being near to all the industrial headquarters and also it is the capital, so the ministry of textiles will always prefer it coz it is a showcase of the institute. mumbai has an advantage of the presence of fashion industry over there, if you want to go for fashion industry that mumbai has a benefit, bangalore center is not good for our course, faculty is short and no opportunities in bangalore for us. hyderabad centre gives u a lot of chance to know the retail sector, as u must be aware that hyderabad is the retail playground, all the retailers start their operations from here, and u can definately see in the market here. point is that faculty will not give u a knowledge drink, and no center has full faculty except hyderabad, our faculty only visits other centers for guest lectures. but if u are searching ur career in retail than frankly telling u hyderabad is best centre. but u need to learn of ur own.
and they will not ask for any statement of purpose from you.....
dont take much care of the centre rite now, just do well and try to get the best rank u can so that all the centers are in ur hand and u have ur own choice......
well make ur graduation related computer knowledge very strong, and if possible then be aware of the use of computers in fashion industry too.... read a little fashion magazines to know only a little bit bout the fashion business. know a lillte bit more bout the brands, like the company to which the brand belongs to, ex Van Huesen, Peter England, Allen Solly to Madura Garments, Scullers to Raymond....
these think will definately help u to impress the interviewer.........
will let u know as much as i can but wont be possible in a single scrap.....
so feel free to ask anything u want anytime....}

I would like to contradict couple of points here... its true that all NIFT's are same in terms of infrastructure...but Delhi have some advantages since its the mother center and oldest one. But when it comes to job opportunities/interns/projects... Mumbai and Bangalore offer best opportunities. And going by trends during placements in past two yrs...other centers alwaz gt placed before Del tudents. Also as far as hydbd is concrned they do have full time faculties but they are as good as nothing. Plus thr is no industry exposure thr... Gandhinagr hv good faculty and its picking up...it also helps to be close to mumbai....
Chennai n Rb are completely new.....yet to show results.....
But yeah I certainly agree with what is suggested that conc on GD/PI get good rank...n choose the best avlbl center wrt ur rank.....

Hi Everyone!
I just called NIFT Delhi to check about the dates for GD/PI and the person said that they are still deciding about the dates and will be posting the same by the first week of April and said that the GD/PI will only be held in the month of May!!
So its going to be a long long wait!! But on one side we get loads of time to prepare! So fellow PagalGuys JAAGOOOOOOO and please put in ur ideas and how are you all going about preparing for the GDs etc!!
