Hi guyzz........
1st of all congrats to all who got thruu................

Since most of you are sounding quite puzzled wrt ranking of center, placements, salaries n all,lemme try n elucidate few things for all.
Preference (or rankings) for centers wrt various factors as follows:
1. Delhi (Enjoys advantage of being mother center. Since majority of applicants are from North, its the first preference. Full time faculty is ok kindaa... Industry interface is good. )
2. Bangalore (Location & excellent industry interface backs Bangalore center which has poor full time faculty. But manages to cover up with decent visiting faculties. Most relaxed center in terms of curriculum & work load. Since most of the Industry is centered in Bangalore, exposure is good which results into decent placements.)
3. Mumbai (Launched in 2005, has taken rapid strides in terms of rankings. Industry interface is as good as Bangalore and it offers excellent exposure in terms of Industry Interface. Faculty is okk kinda..again visiting ones are good).
4. Hyderabad (3rd oldest center running FMS course. Industry interface is very poor, almost nil. Boasts good full time faculty but they usually traumatize student, since in absence of industry exposure students are completely at their mercy. Workload is pretty high.)
5. Gandhinagar (started in 2006. Have decent full time faculty and excellent visiting faculty from IIMs & MICA. Industry interface is decent considering place's proximity with Mumbai & Ahmedabad).
6. Kolkata (Started along with Mumbai but lacks in Industry interface. What I've observed in past is, students are usually cut off from happeneings in industry & are not well updated. Again completely dependent upon faculties for their future which is bad.)
7. Chennai & Patna (Chennai started last year & Patna this year. Join only if you don't have any choice and want to join this year only. Prefer Chennai in such scenario since its a relatively older center.)

Avarage Salaries of all NIFT centers - Approx Rs. 3.5 to 4 lacs
Average in hand - Approx Rs.20-25k in Hand

And yeah..kindly avoid referring to rankings (imint etc), they dont make any sense. Management course at NIFT is a completely different ball game....

Delhi - Upto 25 to 30
Bangalore/Mumbai - Upto 65-80
Hyderabad - 100-110
Kolkata/Gandhinagar - 120-145
Chennai - 150-170
Patna-180-190

These are expected ranks upto which people might fetch their desired centers.

priyank sir thanks for all the info but wat after 190... im standing at 206... also do u hav any idea about hostel facility at all the centres??? i know its no use asking this question but hav to start convincing parents right from now iffffffffff at all i get in...

wel....my result wsnt on site n is still nt on site....
i called up nift ystrdy n asked abt d result....i told them dat aftr submiting it shows dat roll no/progrm doesnt exist..so i asked them dat is coz i hv nt been shortlisted...so thy said no dis is coz u hv enterd wrong roll no...i asked them 2 chck it at thr end..thy checked it n said dat ur name n roll no is nt in d list...thn thy asked me 2 cal up aima...i called up thr...thr a guy told me d same abt d wrong roll no thng...wen he checked my roll no n name he asked me dat hv u given d gdpi?? i said yes..so he said tel me d dates...even aftr dat he also wsnt able 2 find my name n asked me 2 cal up 2dy morning...

i called aima 2dy morning....d same guy said pls cal me aftr half n hr or so...i said ok...agn called up aftr half n hr....he said plss madam call me aftr lunch...dat time i got irritated n insisted him 2 tel me dat wat ws my result..toh he instantly said dat u hv a rank..kaafi peeche..n hv been waitlisted...i said pls tel me d rank...toh he said dat i wil tel u aftr lunch....(dont thy get 2 knw who has been shortlisted or waitlisted from thr ranks only???)
thn agn i called up nift n told them abt d whole issue..toh dis time thy said dat humare paas toh kuch aata hi nahi hai...i said koi list hogi selected ki or waitlisted ki..toh thy said no jo hai aima ke paas hi hota hai...yahan result ka kuch nahi aata...( toh whr thy were searching for my name n roll no ystrdy when thy said ki ur name n roll no is nt on list????)

finally i went aima....n spoke 2d concerned person thr on extension....he said dat urs is 296 rank..it is d last rank n u hv been waitlisted...it is d last rank dat is y is is nt on site abhi..wil b uploaded soon....

now puys tel me....dont thy hv a written database jisko dekh kar thy upload d result on site?? if thy have ( whch i think thy mst b hvng) toh usmain toh mera naam hoga na...toh y thy told me aftr checking thr list dat ur name n roll no doesnt exist in d list...????????
ws my name omitted from d list??? n thy gave me dis rank jst 4d sake of avoiding a scene which i mite hv created?????

wel now i knw dat nothng cn b done n i hv been given 296th rank.....
