A question to the seniors... are there some preparatory courses before the actual classes start? For example - for subjects like accounting, statistics, etc.? I couldn't find the details on the website.

Does one need to have some basic knowledge? What would you all recommend?

No preparatory courses are there and don't worry about the basic knowledge and all...not required.. My recommendations: just chill !!

I saw that there were a variety of clubs at IIFT. what ones are you all planning to join and why?

I am interested in the finance club, the dramatics club, and some of the others as well. have to see if its possible to be a member of these all simultaneously.

A trip to vaishno devi is always welcome...the trip is short and parents tend to agree easily for religious tours...atleast mine do

This is a question to the seniors. I have heard that there a lot of competitions like Business plan, stock market simulation games, Business quiz. I wonder how people in B schools prepare. i would love to take part in such competitions. Seniors could you throw some light on these events? Also could you tell us about the different clubs like finance, marketing, quiz club. I heard that there is a club that manages funds and invests(SOunds interesting).

bro, there are lots and lots of fests around. all we have to do is form a team and send entries. In some competitions there would certainly be selections on college representation. But most others would allow independent entries.

Moreover, these events tend to clash with insti classes, which complicates matters. So we would have to decide very clearly what to attend and what not.

As far as the clubs are concerned, just check out iift site. They mention pretty clearly the aims and targets of the clubs. I would love to be a part of some of them.

jahan parents maane wahin jaayenge, and these are the very people who shout about freedom to women and women-empwerment. blah blah. booooo.

oh, theek hai, that was my chauvinistic side peeking out. A trip to vaishnodevi would certainly be fun. And if possible, a nearby visit to dehradun i wouldnt especially mind.
