I see there has been a detailed discussion on the types of shirts guys are required to wear...checks,plains,beachwears[:P]...and here i thought only girls discussed clothes!
Speaking of girls...in case sm ppl didnt know...i am a girl too(though i think the name makes it pretty obvious)...n that wont make teena_09 the first girl on this thread who'd be joining iift...
Though i wish there were more girls...so that we could discuss prints of sarees too! ]

I'm as lost as anyone else unless of course formals can be stretched to include jeans and I might be able to scrounge up a coupla kurtis somewhere. oketoungeb:
So what exactly are considered women's formals in IIFT anyway? Both Western and Indian are included right? Either way I'm gonna have to go looking for some but an idea of what will be needed will help a LOT.

hv been watching all the guys exchange notes about shirt patterns on this thread.. thank god we finally have the gals doing the talking about clothes
1. Sarees : we will need a couple of these.. bt i guess sm1 will hv to come to our rescue when it comes to draping them.
2. Salwar Suits : we'l need plenty of them coz i think the first 2-3 months we gotta wear them regularly.
3. trousers, formal shirts : full sleeved shirts n trousers.. bt i dunno how many.. *seniors pl help
In the admission offer letter they've mentioned what guys r supposed to wear... any ideas abt what we r supposed to get? i think its the blue blazer n steel grey trousers for us too..

Another thing thats freakish is that most of the girls were inactive on pg before the topic of clothes started.

I have never had an outing for a long long time. So I am keen on one before I join IIFT. So, friends, ready to join me?
There's an All India Pagalguy Meet 2008 to be conducted in June '08, mostly near Bangalore. So one option can be to go to this meet, and then, we can head to some good place in the south - like Coorg, Waynand, Kabini, Pondicherry et al - after that. I am also open to goin to north or east or even west, for that matter. The outing will be a bit longish - I mean it won't be just for the weekend. Neither will it be luxurious (I have to survive two years yaar).
So every one out there, who wants to have a last roll of fun before the grind in b school and life thereafter, do contact me. I am based in Bombay, and will head home to Ahmedabad after I quit my service.

Hi friends,
Now that i have paid my fees and all, I have time to ponder on this outing plan. I have come to conclusion that I would want to head north, to escape from the heat in Ahmedabad. Right now, I have Uttaranchal and Kashmir in mind as possible options. Any time in June will be fine with me (like, say, anytime from 4th to 25th of June). I was also thinking of Leh-Ladakh as an option, but that would involve taking Delhi-Leh flight, which would make things costly. What I have in mind is an adventure trip for 7 days ex-Delhi. I have been searching adventure tour operators in newspapers and net. If there are a few people willing, we can get our trip customised as per our needs. Do PM me or post here about your willingness. And yes, time is June. For me that is non-negotiable, as I would be working till 31-May. The earlier we plan the better it would be, even logistically.
Come on IIFTians. Show your adventurous side!

dekho dekho Thanks arpit, for pointing out the point that the girls that would belong to the batch of 2008-2010 are all quite fashion-conscious. What to wear, and what not to wear? reminds me of to be or not to be. hmmm...
anyways, somebody asked about ackowledgement. I and ysh submitted the forms by-hand and got the acknowledgement right then. Rest of the people from my insti are yet to receive any.
Apart from clothes, what all do you think we shoudl bring to iift.
PS:- I am getting a cooler. Room me rehne ke liya bribe taiyaar rakhen.
