Hey Puys,
Just been back after depositing my fees.
Spoke with Mr. Gulati, he said that the final call letter specifying the final date of commencement of course (he said that 1st July is tentative) will be dispatched after 5th May.
@get amazed.... im glad that there are other foodies also apart from me....

Also, one building that i noticed which possibly might have skipped our attention is the rehabilitation centre building.....
I wonder why is that right next to our institute!!!

yar formals ka kya funda hai..ne idea?..i mean do they need to b plain shirts or chex n the likes will do?
and how many takers for badminton?..puys bring the stuff needed...raquets and shuttles..

Guys...have updated the xl file.....still in Delhi list only details of 64 ppl known...no details about the rest 88 ppl either here or on orkut...kolkatta convert ppl plllllzzzz post your merit no. and other calls status here or the orkut community...there are around 20 ppl in kolkatta list who mit leave...so if their merit nos. are known, better idea can be formed about the waitlist.......could have asked the details on orkut but can't scrap them as they have prohibited outsiders from intruding into their scrapbook

dear anuj,
i have quite a few reasons:-
1. i have not yet converted spjain. am waitlisted.
2. delhi is my dream place. it just pulls me towards it from a long time back.
3. as far as rankings, both instis are at a similar level.
4. fees is almost same, yet delhi is cleaner and more spacier than mumbai.
5. freshers have a better chance at iift than at spjain
6. spj is not recognised (i.e. its degree pgdm is not under one of the authorities.)
7. IB is an upcoming field
8. easier to particiapte in festsetc of diff colleges as lots are there in delhi (good ones.)
9. cheaper to stay in delhi
10. being govt insti fees cant jump.

these are my reasons.
you can tell me if you feel i am incorrect in any of the above.

add to it...iift being a research institute where even WTO conducts its research in india...again a completely different standard of learning

bhai i play badminton. bad. really bad-badminton-i mean in a rap-hip kind of way. i will get my racquet for sure, but i didnt get to see any badminton courts. so where would we play? well we will find the place.

yes, we need to be in formals for most of the time. so i guess an investment has to be made in the stuff. a blue or dark suit is compulsary.

really really hoping you are a girl. in case yu are, welcome to iift as the first female in this formus who is actually going to join iift. and that too hopefully iift delhi. this is one bad thing at iift delhi, extremely skewed gender ratio. i am sure the girls are intelligent, why give iift a skip??????

see m not a great player too..but a frnd of mine is a state player n i play with him(did i say play..means i just keep running over the court, pick up the shuttle and return him)
but i'l learn to play pretty soon...hope that eases ur nerves

Back to PG after a long break..was away on a short term transfer
I am definitely in for badminton..though an amateur, i love the game! so, will be there with rackets

Also, this one's for the girls -
Chiya's suggestion - get a couple of sarees, as that may be required for some guest lecture or volunteer work.
